That episode was crap.

The whole other attorney angle is so bad.  Would never make fun of another lawyer in open court, the idea of everyone knowing of a plea deal offer before it was even accepted is bogus etc.  And that doesn't get into the prison scenes - I can buy someone tight with a guard and getting some favors on the side but they're depicting it basically as a penthouse for Freddy.

I thought it was pretty good. I hated that lady attorney.

But you're a lawyer so it's affecting how you see the show. Kinda like when Oz was on and I was working as a guard. I watched it but cringed a lot.

They're embellishing the openess of how someone can run a block but it happens. And remember this is in Rikers where it's a known cesspool of corruption and violence. On the night shift like that when administration is not there it can happen. The guard and Freddie may be tight from the neighborhood. I'll have to look closer next time but the guard could hold some rank which makes it easier for him to let it go down.

County jails and jails like the one we took over in Austin can have this happen. People from the free world know the inmates well.

They did get the prison napalm spot on though. Saw that many times. I also liked how the dude who got him knew he farged up when he went up to Freddie's cell.

There's also zero chance the DA offers man1/15 with a guy fleeing from the scene with the murder weapon on his body when apprehended.   That's the attorney nitpicking I try to ignore.  The other stuff (saying he didn't have a real attorney before) would never happen.  I guess my bigger issue with that whole subplot is I don't get the point of it.  Why couldn't all of this had just been Stone as attorney?  It's like they had to plug in another antagonist for no reason.  It just annoyed me.

PhillyPhreak54

Don't the higher profile attorneys usually try to siphon off big cases for publicity?

Eagles_Legendz

Sure.   Def could have a major attorney take it on pro bono.  She'd do interviews etc.

But you wouldn't get her openly mocking stone to a judge in court at an arraignment / wouldn't get people at a bar talking to Stone about a plea deal that hadn't even been made yet (Naz is debating it the next scene).  Wouldn't be public knowledge.

PhillyPhreak54

Sure and that's the Hollywoodization of it there. Gotta spice it up.

I am glad he made the decision to not deal

What got you into being a guard

PhillyPhreak54

I didn't have money for school and quite frankly wasn't ready for college. I'd pinned a lot on getting a scholarship for baseball and when it never happened I was mentally checked out.

I wanted to be a police officer but couldn't enter the academy until I was 21. So I figured I would gain experience with the criminal element by working for TDCJ. They were hiring so on I went.

I know some states have good systems but I realized Texas isn't one of them. After almost five years of making diddly squat and seeing older guys have to take second jobs I made the call to move on. By then I was ready for college so I moved back home. Fighting several times a week and always worrying about my safety for peanuts in salary wasn't worth it.

When I moved back to PA I initially worked at Chester County Prison and that is way worse than being in a penetentiary environment. The county jail environment mimics what you see on the show.

I thought it was better than last week but the jail shtein is still really dumb and even worse it's boring as shtein...basically I'm on cruise control with the show just waiting how they explain who did it and why...stones investigating is the only part of the show I care even a little about

two rappers are in it which is pretty cool tho...sticky fingers from onyx is one of the prisoners and lord jamar from brand Nubian is the prison guard

Mr. Robot is too all over the place. Every episode has had a great scene. Episode one with the money burning, episode 3 with the Adderall, and episode 4 with the Green Day song and his imagination. They need to find a direction and find it fast because people will start losing interest.

epd 3's scene with the group session was excellent IMO. loved Elliot's rant on religion.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

Anyone (looking at you Rome) watch the new Battlestar Galatica? I watched the first episode but Hulu says it was part one of a two part miniseries. Then there's 4 separate seasons. I'm assuming/hoping the miniseries falls in line with the other 4 seasons.

The new one from twelve years ago? Fun to start, but totally falls apart by the end.

The man. The myth. The legend.

PhillyPhreak54

I wish TNO was more than eight eps because they're moving too slow for a wrap in three more shows.

Decent show tonight.

Treach joins Lord Jamar and Sticky Fingaz with roles in the show

Seems like the road the show is going to take is whether you did it or not is mostly irrelevant because the prison system fargs you anyway once you're in it
