not especially interesting factoid - Eagles traded the Brooks pick (#76 in 2012) to the Texans as part of the deal that would bring in Meco and Foles.

Listed at 6-5 343 I'm guessing he's more of a road grader type. Anyone know anything about him?

PhillyPhreak54

He's pretty good. The Houston fans were not happy to see him go.

Osemele's deal set the OG market so that's why he got $40M

Eagaholic

Yeah, I was thinking for $9m a year he ought to be very good though he's never made a probowl.

They bargain shopped before...and we saw what happened. Enjoy having a legit starting big ass guard

Maybe they shouldn't be paying so much for a guard but after watching last year's train wreck I'm not gonna be mad about it.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Eagaholic

Really they need 2 starting guards so I can see getting one vet and one in the draft more than trying to draft and start 2 rookies. I'd rather not see them overpay but with the OLine i'm ok with it.

General_Failure

Kinda hard not to overpay when there's teams out there that literally have to spend a shteinload of money right now to hit the cap minimum.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Eagaholic

Yeah, but this is the Eagles they get to come to. We have emotional intelligence.

Oh yeah, I don't hate any of this. Looks like Howie is making the moves everyone hoped he would, I just don't think it matters if Pederson is a total stiff.

Good players can make bad coaches look good. Case in point: McNabb & Reid

MDS

one observation:

with the moves today the eagles will be too solid on paper to not get at least 4 primetime games. they might max out at 5.

right now im feeling 1 snf, 2 mnf and a thursday (which everyone gets anyway). might see a few 425 national games, too. some good matchups for those.

short and sweet of it is theres gonna be less 100 jawns than thought even a month ago. sorry rome.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Last season nobody wanted Brandon Marshall...I have no clue why, but the Jets got him for a late pick. He had one of his best seasons. I can't see the Eagles taking Treadwell at 8 although I'd have no problem with it and they'd suddenly have a nice young somewhat talented receiving core. Treadwell would really open up things on the inside and give Agholor some space to roam since he can't beat press coverage. But I'm wondering if there's a Veteran WR out there...maybe not as good as Marshall, but a guy they could get for a late pick who can fill in.

QB Eagles

Last year was kind of a perfect storm for the Brandon Marshall trade. He was coming off of IR, had largely been supplanted as a #1 by Alshon Jeffery, and was due a lot of money in 2015. Plus he was 31 last season and had pissed off a lot of people in the locker room and front office. I don't really see any WRs in a comparable situation this year. And last year there were trade rumors about Marshall long before the trade took place. The rumor mill is pretty silent about WRs now.

Maybe the Eagles could get a good WR out of Denver if they trade Bradford, that's about the only trade scenario I see and not one I feel particularly good about.

The Eagles are kind of farged at WR unless they can get Treadwell. Years and years of drafting poorly in early rounds at a position will do that. You want to give the current guys any chance possible to turn things around because the team paid dearly for them with valuable picks, and they are cheap to keep while on their rookie contracts. It would be a nightmare scenario to see them thrive for another team that paid peanuts for them. But if they never do improve, they're just obstacles in the way of improving the team. Gotta cut bait at some point.

Sgt PSN

Cedric Thornton to Dallas. Nice player, especially against the run, but he's not irreplaceable.
