My local Home Depot has an enormous parking lot with exactly 2 cart returns, neither of which are positioned anywhere near the area of the lot that gets the most use.  So I tend to prop the front wheels of my cart up on the curb of a little tree they decided to put out there instead because I'm a disgusting American slob who can't be bothered with walking 75 feet back to the store with my cart.

Other than that, I agree though. I love getting halfway into a spot and jacking the brakes because there's a cart in the middle of it and a cart return like 20 ft away.

me and wifey always beef about the carts....I always bring them all the way back to the store everytime....she says to put them in the racks in the parking lot so the cart kids can justify their job

You've got three allowable options with carts: 1) Return them to the store. 2) Put them in the cart returns. 3) Give them to someone entering the store.

Doing anything else is broadcasting your sociopathy and alerting others in the area that you should be considered uncivilized and possibly dangerous.
