I'm still into sports but its def not at the same level. I'm convinced if Jr hadn't bought into our season ticket group I would've gotten rid of mine.

Priorities...

Birds suck, Sixers 0-4 (I know shocking) and shouldn't even be in the conversation, Flyers loose again last night 6 in a row, Bums are years away if we're lucky.  I have a family and they are always priority one but when the Sixers had that magical 2000-2001 season, the birds run from 2000 -2013, Bums 2007-11, Flyers 2010 road to the finals, I was totally engulfed in all.  We have nothing to excite, motivate us of late. Let down after let down.  Like the rest of you if someone told me "you can't watch the game Sunday", I'd be fine.  I never in a million years thought I'd be so apathetic about an Eagles/Cowboys game.  Yes, some of us are getting old, some are already old, our priorities do change whether it be family, career, personal issues, etc. but we always found time to watch our favorite teams play.  It's just a real zesty time in Philadelphia sports. and thank God we have other things to occupy our time.

No. The NFL is a zesty organization employing zesty people. The unending assault of brain damaged goofballs three days a week that you have to suffer through or avoid just to watch the damn games is awful. The only good thing about professional football is the three hours of actual game time, but they're doing their best to make it as awful as possible.

That is probably the best post I've ever read here.  No bullshtein either.  That is exactly how I feel.  I hate the game the way it's played.  I hate the grotesque amount of money that everyone makes except the dipshtein fans who pay for all it.  I hate all of it except the actual three hours I watch the game, and even that I'm sick of because the NFL forces me to watch it at times I don't want to watch. 

I want NFL games at 1:00 on Sundays. 

I want hitting.  Real hitting.  Like hard core old-fashioned blocking and tackling.

I want guys who play for the glory of the game and for their teammates and the fans who love them.

I don't want a bunch of disgusting prima donna bitches out there preening for the cameras when they're not busy pissing and moaning about the officiating or disrespecting each other, the game, the coaches, and especially the fans who pay their farging salaries.  I hate the non-stop advertising tie-in whoring the NFL engages in.   

I really am farging sick of all of it. 

I wish I had the backbone to just stop watching or even caring but no matter how awful they make the game, or how awful the humans are who play it, coach it or otherwise profit from it, I still love it.   

Shame on me.

I don't begrudge players looking to get as much money as they can grab or doing whatever goofy shtein makes them happy. They've got a small, life-shortening window to make sure their families are set, they might as well enjoy it while they can. If they're very lucky they'll have a decade long playing career capped off with years of soul-crushingly banal anecdotes and god awful commentary afterwards.

The game still has hitting, and probably too much for anyone's health. It would be nice to see more solid tackling and less of Del Rio's "just hold the guy up so someone else can try to cripple him" bullshtein. There's probably less of that than there used to be, too, but we know I'm not paying enough attention to say for sure.

The tie-in stuff is pretty terrible, especially the Susan G Komen marketing push. Hey, buy this pink shtein to feel better about yourself and eight cents on every dollar will go to cancer research. We're keeping the rest though because we're raising awareness for breast cancer. There's still some guy in Iowa who hasn't heard of it, and we won't stop until we reach him.
