FULLY OPERATIONAL DEATH STAR!

That's not even a Death Platter yet, calm down.

The man. The myth. The legend.

I'm one of the supposed 1% who still have their Unlimited Plan.  I don't use more than 1gb per month, but it was always about the principle of getting what I signed up for.  I'd love to see a class action suit for verizon forcing customers into plans that are designed to farg the consumer.  But I'm 99.9% sure that the lawyers have slipped a no arbitration clause in one of the various forms or privacy notices that are sent out leaving consumers with no recourse other than to bend over.

I got off my unlimited data plan with AT&T about 18 months ago and we switched our family plan to their Next Plan.  We started with 10GB/mo of shared data, but recently we were able to upgrade to 15GB/mo at no extra charge. Honestly, I prefer our current plan to my unlimited plan.  When I had unlimited data, AT&T would start to throttle back my speed once I hit 2GB of data and it would come to a damn near standstill at 3GB......could not stream video at all, and if a website or app had a lot of ads or animations then it took forever to load.

Our family plan is my Squaw, Mom, Sister, and I. My dad's on there too, but he has a flip phone and doesn't need data. My mom and sister usually only consume about 1-2GB of data each month combined, so that leaves at least 13GB for me and squaw and AT&T does not throttle the speed back at all, so I get all of my data usage at full speed. Much better and cheaper as well.

We had to switch plans when we added my son this summer.  Started with 10GB but was kicked up to 20 at no extra charge during the summer.  You also get last month's leftovers on top of that, so right now I have 32 GB left for the next 2 weeks.

I don't think my family has totaled more than 6GB in any month since we've gotten it.  When my daughter starts up in a few years, though...

Yeah, we usually roll over quite a bit each month, too. We went over our 10GB allowance twice last year though.....both times because I was travelling and streamed Eagles via the Sunday Ticket app. 1 game is roughly 3 - 3.5GB of data, btw. But even then, I barely put us over our limit. Had to buy 1 extra GB to get through each month....I think it was $15/GB....which is insane, but manageable if you don't make a habit of it.

If you have an older device you won't be able to update to iOS 9.3 quite yet.  A glitch has prompted you to add your initial Apple ID password after downloading the update, so Apple yanked it until they get it sorted out.  I already updated it the other night and I had to go back in, create a new password, then reset the phone using the new one.  It was a mild annoyance, but if you own Apple devices, you should be used to them now when you're doing updates.

It let me update my 5s last night - I had to use my original iTunes password which I did and it seemed fine.

However it would not let me update my iPad. Kept saying I wasn't connected to the Internet

That was the problem for a lot of people.  I tried my password (that I know works because I use iTunes all the time) and it didn't work.  Kept saying incorrect password (in red italics, btw - I chuckled at that).  I just reset the password, logged in using it and the update was completed.

Why is my incorrect password in red italics?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Sgt PSN

Because its stained with the blood of the Asian slave children who built your phone.

It's an old EMB joke, Sassy.

Ignore.

Sgt PSN

Inside jokes from the EMB.  This is what it's come to around here.

I've been putting off doing the update on my iphone 5 and ipad 2. Too many horror stories of bricked devices.

When I do decide to do the update, you can bet that I'll do it through itunes, with the device fully backed up and attached to the computer.
