PITTSBURGH -- The Brandon Boykin mystery continues.

When the Steelers traded a conditional fifth-round pick to the Eagles for the rights to Boykin, the move presumably solved a need at cornerback.

But Boykin has played one defensive snap -- one! -- in the last three weeks. He's logged less than 20 snaps the entire year.

Steelers cornerback Brandon Boykin has played fewer than 20 snaps this season and just one in the past three weeks.

This trend likely isn't changing any time soon.

Two years removed from a six-interception season, Boykin has no immediate chances to build on that number.

"I'm not going to say anything negative. I just feel in my heart things will turn around," Boykin told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently.

What's the surprise?  Gay has been solid in the slot for them.  Just like in Philly he can't supplant the starters and they seem to prefer Blake & Cockrell on the outside.   

I agree with SD that I'd take him back, but what's going on with him with the Stillers isn't really a head-scratcher because the same thing happened in Philly.

Boykin is partly to blame because he's delusional thinking he can play the outside. His body and playing style is perfect as a nickle/3rd CB/slot guy.
