How does Goodell keep his job

ice grillin you

as long as the league keeps printing money he keeps it...the owners dont give a farg about suspensions or appeals....they care about their pockets...goodell is still negotiating insane tv deals and the nfl has an owner friendly cba

if fans stopped watching or sponsers started dopping because of the brady case then goodell would be in trouble

the nfl is teflon. no matter how god awful goodell is they keep making billionaires richer. therefore, he stays
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Please any moron with a business degree could run the NFL...it runs itself. He has too much power and influence over the league. He's instituted horrible rule changes and every ruling he makes is worst than the next. The owners are going to make money regardless of who the commish is because each team is its own entity and the NFL rules the world.

Still not sure why they don't have minor league teams that play in small towns sort of like the NHL does. They'd expand their product and instead of having a practice squad teams could just have call ups.

The owners don't want competence. They want money and control. As long as Goodell keeps looking and acting like a jerkoff they will have the power in that relationship. He's their wet dream.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

ive thought about this, too. essentially it wouldnt make (enough) money and would look small time and low rent.

youd either be playing at converted minor league baseball stadiums, college stadiums or high school stadiums. the games would be in the middle of the week, generally when its cold out. attendance would be an issue (baseball = summer; hockey = indoors). it costs a ton of money to start up teams, especially football. youd need a facility. you need coaching staffs. it would also take away from the power teams have over players, since there would be a fallback minor league for them to go to if they cant cut it.

it makes sense, id like to see it, but it aint happening.

any other person in a position like goodell would be fired. but for the reasons posted he isn't going anywhere.

deflategate is a prime example - kraft will rip goodell apart in the media but pat him on the back in private for keeping the money flowing.

I don't know why anyone thought this would end any other way, honestly.

And if they couldn't bare to embarrass themselves any further the NFL is appealing the judges ruling

Here's a hint Goodell...you have nothing to win here and everything to lose. Let this one die. He's running the NFL like Snyder runs the Skins

Zanshin

The funny thing is now this has nothing to do with air in footballs and everything to do with power. And it's a battle that the NFL created and didn't really have to exist. Mismanaged from start to finish.

It would never work. When would these teams play?  Friday nights?  Good luck in smalltown USA getting the Uncle Ricos of the world to ditch the local HS game.

Saturday?  NFL ain't trying to step on the NCAA toes. They have a good thing going with each other already. Definitely not going to play on Sunday, Monday, or Thursday. NFL would be cutting into its own viewership.

That leaves Tuesday and Wednesday. Gotta be night time games to maximize your audience, but people are tired on Tuesday from staying up watching MNF. So Wed. That's it. That's your 1 day of minor league football.....which would be totally unwatchable because it's practice squad guys vs practice squad guys. And you'd have to seriously alter the rules to eliminate a lot of the injury risk. Ain't no one trying to blow out their knee or risk head trauma for $50k a year. So now they basically play flag football. Yawn. I'd rather watch Grey's Anatomy with my squaw.
