the baltimore news stations are a complete embarrasment for a big city...i get DC and baltimore and while its not a fair comparison btwn the nations capital and bmore the difference in quality is just ridicullous and way bigger than it should be....baltimore is way closer to like burlington vt than it is dc philly or ny...everything from the set pieces to the clothes the anchors to the graphics they use is so far behind the times

We get both Satellite and Cable and have cable just to watch Philly local network stations.  The most I've ever watched Baltimore news was definitely during the baltimore uprising/purge and two weeks ago there was an awesome car chase that I couldn't turn away from.  I guess growing up in a top 4 market, you tend to have expectations.

Don't forget good 'ole Lee-Jackson Day in Virginia.
It used to be Lee-Jackson-King day when they decided to lump MLK day in with L-J or else lose federal funding for not honoring MLK Day. Lee-Jackson-King in that order was specifically decided upon. After a decade and a half the best and the brightest there started wondering if the two didn't naturally go well together (like, say, brothers and sisters do), so they separated them into two holidays. Next time you're driving down I-95, y'all don't forget to stop off at the Stonewall Jackson Shrine and pay your respects (yes, not memorial, "shrine").

It's like Statehood Day here.  Big thing when I was a kid but now with the Hawaiian Sovereignty movement and the acknowledgement that the overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy in 1898 was illegal, not so much anymore.
