He was a terrible manager.  No doubt about it.  Doesn't make the overpaid babies any less responsible for their hideous play any more than Mackanin deserves credit for them being 13-3 since the break.  Good bosses make the job more enjoyable, though.  We all can attest to that.

franco .282/.339/.491
bryant .246/.355/.434
joc .222/.349/.452
gallo .218/.306/.448 duffy .309/.346/.465

But playoff race ABs?!

gallo is in AAA and was in the bigs for like a week before they noticed the giant hole in his swing. duffy wasnt ranked high on some prospect list by a bunch of nerds and his AA highlights werent on baseball tonight so i guess he sucks? college fans are rankings whores.

franco is also protected by odubel herrera and ryan howard, where as the other 3 hit around all-stars and established MLers.

but since the 23 year old dominican is totally aware of what the playoffs are and not just thrilled to be in the bigs and nervous about staying there, his performance should be discounted. and for the record, right now, duffy is the ROY.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

franco's play so far has been encouraging. its refreshing seeing someone on the field that has some type of upside instead some of the crap this team has put out there.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

idea:

-trade galvis in the offseason for an arm, either a ready to go reliever or a AA/AAA starter. hes a ml-level player who actually could be a good bench bat/mediocre-level starter somewhere.
-sign jimmy for a farewell go-round. he starts until jp is ready, then sits back by mid-summer and fargs around. jimmy rollins day in september where he gets his number retired and jerked off on the field, all that shtein.

who says no.

Pretty sure Jimmy Rollins says no.  He'll still think he can start.

PhillyPhreak54

Bring Jimmy back!

Oh btw

@ryanlawrence21: In his first two games since joining Reading after Hamels trade, Nick Williams is 5-for-8  with 2 HR, 3 RBI, 4 runs scored, a stolen base.

yea, im not sure anyone is going to give him a job outright next year. hes also 22/23 among SSs in WAR. cant imagine hed get anything more than a "if you earn it." thats why it makes a ton of sense of the legend to come home for a swan song.

Rome

They just rid themselves of Papelbon & Revere and are this close to doing the same with Utley and you want to bring back Rollins?

For farg's sake what is wrong with you?  Just let Galvis keep the seat warm for Crawford, or better yet, just bring him up.  But God forbid he starts his farging "clock" too early.  Can't have that!

ice grillin you

jimmy is an all time legend on a level even GRIT cant dream of getting to...DONT YOU fargING EVER AGAIN MENTION SOMEONE LIKE JONTHAN PAPLEBON OR BEN REVERE IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS THE g-o-d

bringing back jimmy on a 1-year deal to end his career would do absolutely nothing negative to them. and like igy said, to compare the legend to those POS' is horrible. you suck.

galvis "keeping the seat warm" accomplishes nothing. so you call up jp when he's ready (it has nothing to do with his clock, though service time threshold is an essential part of the business, im sorry if that's too complicated for you), then galvis sits on the bench? oh great, 2-3 months of freddy galvis. that was important.

its not going to happen, i made the whole thing up. but to me it makes sense.
