if you grew up during the time that the main character worships youll probably love it...if not i could see someone hating it....the movies humor flopped most of the time

He said GoT is his favorite show.  Surprised that didn't move it instantly to 6.5/10.

I liked the movie.   Gun scene with bullies and the aftermath was strange but was on board besides that.

i dont disagree with everything he said....he makes some very valid points....but its a  typical overwrought way too many words self impoirtant grantland piece.....that site always has killed me because they write these wannabe new yorker opinion pieces that usually rip other people for trying to be too intellectual for their own good when that is how 90% of grantland articles read

it almost feels as if morris heard the n word was possibly used too much in the movie before he saw it and he wrote half that article before he even went to sundance

Morris did win the Pulitzer at the Boston Globe, but that's how most of his pieces read to me.  He seems to go for super insightful 24:7 when sometimes a movie review should just be a movie review.

in fairness to him if he was still at the boston globe that would have read better...problem is thats how everyone sounds on grantland...whether its talking about game of thrones....deflategate....chip kellys genius or the evils of the ncaa

everyone is trying to be like neil degrasse tyson on steroids and it just becomes so overbearing....their over eagerness to sound intellectual is just so palpable

but if you took most of their stuff and individually placed the articles in different newspaper editorial pages or in the wash post sunday outlook section or the new york times arts section you wouldnt notice it as much

i love it in a its so horrible its good kind of way...tons of awesome unintentional copmedy in it...for a few years it was basicaly on cable every sunday afternoon...i would watch it every time

amazingly it has at least three people in it that have been nominated for an academy award
