you cant have it both ways....it can be "he signed a deal he should play" and then when he acts out, still dont cut him

again they couldve handled this better 2 years ago so it never got to this point, but the eagles were left with 2 options: 1) give in 2) cut ties. they took door number 2.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I'm just disappointed they couldn't trade him for some anemic kid from the Raiders or something.

The man. The myth. The legend.

If he had shut his face and played out his deal he wouldn't have been cut.  If he didn't have a scummy weasel like Drew Rosenhaus running his farging toaster oven all over social media about looking for a trade partner, the Eagles probably would have re-worked the deal or at the very least released him earlier in the year when teams were still flush with cash.

This is on Mathis, wholly.  I don't have a single problem with them cutting his ass.  As I said previously, I think he's overrated and he's certainly not worth the money he was looking for.  He wasn't really worth the money he was going to make as it was.

farg him and Rosenshteinbagthief.

i could care less that mathis is gone but not a single former teammate said get lost...in fact they both said they wished he was there

Not exactly a ringing endorsement. He doesn't say get lost, but they ask him if he cares if Mathis is gone or stays and his response is "not really"

http://gcobb.com/2015/06/10/jason-peters-and-zach-ertz-kick-evan-mathis-to-the-curb/

QuotePrior to that and right after the team's practice yesterday, young tight end Zach Ertz, who normally says only positives about his teammates didn't have good things to say about Mathis.

"If you go against Chip," Ertz said to a group of reporters after practice yesterday,  "I've think we seen ... if you don't buy in, we've seen what happens.  Not to say that as a threat in any way, but we want guys that love the process each and every day, whether it's June 1 or January 1 or February 6, whatever day the Super Bowl is. We need guys that are going to come in each and every day and work and I think that's what we're building right now."

You can read between the lines

Gcobb convienantly left out all the positive stuff ertz said..like he loves him and wished he was there...peters just doesn't give a farg about anyone...he simply said he doesn't care who he plays next too...I would imagine most players on the team especially young ones like ertz are either chip cult members or scared shteinless of him...so you are never going to hear outright support for a holdout...but neither player came close to kicking him to the curb

again I don't really care about an ancient guard on a rebuilding team but there was a clear 3rd option....keep him and call his bluff...there was zero chance he was losing checks and he's been playing under these same exact circumstances for two years and has been good...nothing would have changed this season...I would hope if the Eagles were a contender that is what would have happened...if not then chips culture bullshtein I'd even more dangerous than we thought

I could just as easily talk out my ass and say Mathis is actually a child molester who was hated by his teammates.   But since he could play ball, they put up with his attention-whoring on social media and pissing and moaning about his contract.   Plus the kiddie diddling thing.

There was no bluff on Mathis's part. He never pulled a Dez and said I'm not reporting. He became a nuisance, there were rumblings from writers and people who cover the team and say what you want Peters/Ertz weren't exactly coming to his aid.

ice grillin you

bluff or no bluff there was a clear 3rd option which was to keep him and go forward...he had every intention of coming to mandatory ota's this week....he only didnt show yet because money wasnt involved...you dont give up millions of dollars when you are a 34 year old guard to prove a point...what mathis didnt anticipate was that chip would cut him for missing the voluntary workouts....that was a devastating miscalculation on his part cause hes gonna lose big bucks this season

and do you think with the atmosphere chip has created that any player is going to remotely come to the aid of a player who is beefin with chip....that rarely happens on any teams....it def aint happening on a chip run team..youll be waiting a long time if you are waiting for a player on the roster to not side with chip...i was actually surprised that ertz said he loved mathis

So Chip is running his team his team isn't running him? I wish Lurie had his balls.

ice grillin you

chips team will ultimately be like a cult...like hes going to get players that will 1000% fall in line and be exactly how he wants them at all times...its more important that they will drink cyanide laced smoothies if he asks him than it is that they are talented or will help them win games more than another guy...so its not really running a team in the sense that a belicheck or pete carroll run a team...those two will go get players that might not 100% fall in line every second of their lives but they know how to handle them...thats running a team

Jim Jones had a number of practice suicides before the real thing that he called "White Nights".

White Night. Flight Night. Coincidence? You be the judge.

Hmm, yes. I think I understand now why white people all moved to the suburbs.

If you want to see White Flight Night, turn on the Phillies-Orioles game. It's 10pm on a weeknight and the O's are up by 15 runs. Time for everyone to get back to Towson.
