Man, I'm glad they're not banking on an injury prone quarterback this season.

The man. The myth. The legend.

For the record, I don't blame the Eagles at all for not adjusting his contract. From what I read, he had the chance and turned it down. You made your bed, Evan. Live with your negotiated millions as a 34 year old player. So, I get that he's acting like a little bitch. That said, either find a trade partner or keep him. If he wants to retire over a few more imaginary dollars, fine. But I wouldn't reward the pissing and moaning by releasing him before camps start.

MDS

whoever you want to blame is fine

point blank is mathis didnt want to be here. didnt want to play for chip. bailed on his teammates. no sense in keeping around.

they couldve handled this better, no doubt. but we are where we are.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

its not a reward unless theres a team out that is willing to top the money he would have made from the eagles this year...im not saying that wont happen altho i cant imagine it will but until it does he hasnt been rewarded

It's a reward because it seems he wanted out. And somebody is going to pay him. I wouldn't have given the satisfaction. "Here's the money you're set to earn this year. It's a lot. You want it, you play for us."

he didnt want out...he wants money....he just lost almost 6 million bucks this year...we will see if he gets it all back...i highly doubt it and its possible he takes a monster loss...the eagles couldnt even get a 7th rounder for him....so who exactly is going to cake off the oldest OL in the nfl

I think he did want out. He pissed and moaned his way out.

i mean he wanted out but strictly because of the money...if they pay him hes the happiest player on the roster right now....he was one of the most popular players on the team and by all accounts loved everything about being here except his contract...it wasnt a case of him hating the coach or something/anything other than money

sure....whatever....come up any reason. point blank he didnt want to play for this team under the current contract.

we can go back in time and argue the eagles shouldve handled this situation better, but for where we are now, they did what they had to go. dudes gotta go.
