The plunk/staredown was the completion of the transaction started when the Phillies slop pitcher lost control. Utley's a big boy, I think he's the active MLB leader in HPB. He doesn't need people protecting him. When Buchanan faces the Mets again, he'll probably hit one of them anyway because he sucks.

Harvey is a professional, Utley is a professional, the only thing about this I expect to continue is the Phillies starting pitcher being unable to hit the side of a barn.

did anyone see that e:60 on Harvey....maybe he has mellowed a little but im kinda surprised he didn't go at GRIT's dome piece....dook is farging wired and maybe not all there...they showed some acc tournament game that he threw against Clemson where he woulnt come out even when the manager came to the mound....he ended up throwing a complete game with like 180 pitches or something absolutely ridiculous for college much less the pros

I lol'ed at that because you are clueless to how it works not cause you were being a homer (even tho you were)....and that its completely irrelevant as to whether it was intentional...also hilarious is the notion that you somehow knew it was unintentional but the mets who are major league players and ten feet away from it actually happening didn't know what was going on

your problem seems to not understand the unwritten rules of the game....of which many and maybe even this one are laughable...but that doesn't change the fact that they are what they are

You can tell when a guy is wild and doesn't mean to hit players. Even the Mets booth agreed that he wasn't going after them.

I played baseball for a long time and have watched it even longer. I know the unwritten rules as good as anyone. One thing in this world I know a shtein ton about is baseball (I am talking real baseball...not that WAR, VORP, Keith Law/lil guy bullshtein)

hell i had a coach have his pitcher nail my player at the 12yr old level years back. my pitcher couldnt find the strikezone to save his life that game and hit two kids. the other coach told his son, the pitcher, to nail him. everyone in both dugouts heard him. well a cracked rib later i wasnt happy and he tried to deny it. i wanted curb stomp the fat farg but held back my anger. keep in mind this other coach was the president of our league.


and he was out as president three weeks later after being caught cheating in the district tourney.

NHL Playoffs are entertaining.  Phillies aren't.  And baseball's my favorite sport.
