I know noone here gets too excited about golf, and it can be tedious to watch.
But holy shtein, the last 6 holes Tiger played at the US Open on Sat night were unbelievable. Particularly since he was having trouble just walking by the end there.
Two incredibly difficult eagle putts, and a flat out ridiculous birdie chip. Wow.
That.
QuoteI know noone here gets too excited about golf
wrong. Love every minute of it
I think its very easy to say that Tiger Woods is the most
clutch professional athlete ever
to be undefeated in every single major tournament when leading after 54 holes is flat out bananas
I watched it today and it was exciting. I wish I could see the playoff tomorrow.
Did anyone have any doubt that he was going to sink that putt on 18?

[pg]if you did youre not a real tiger fan[pg]
cant we all just get along?
tiger is +1 thru 4
rocco is even
i love watching golf. other than football, there is nothing better on a sunday afternoon than wasting the entire day watching a major. especially when tiger is playing. although i'm rooting for rocco in this one.
Regardless if Rocco is the biggest long shot in the world, I dont know how anyone can root against Tiger.
You either want Tiger to break every golf record in the books and surpass Jack Nickalaus or you want underdogs and long shots to beat Tiger on Sundays (or Mondays)
I like underdogs just as much as anyone, but not when it comes to the hardest sport in the world and this guy is doing what he is doing--it really is inhuman and I never want him to lose
its on channelsurfing if anyone wants to watch it
thru 10:
Tiger (E)
Rocco (+3)
it's over Johnny
not even close to over...tiger is playing hideously bad...if sav could just hit a put hed be in the lead
and Rocco can't putt
OVER
one shot lead with six left is not over
i'm telling you...
what a bold prediction.
rocco up by one after 15.
sav is in a zone now...this would be disgusting if this bum beat tiger woods for the us open title
farg why couldnt that have gone in
what a friggin finish no matter who wins
tiger right in the middle of the fairway on 18 and set up for an eagle try certainly should not get anything less than a birdie
sav in the fairway bunker
this is insane...i haven't answered my phone in a half hour
wow what a choke
to whoever misses their putt
tiger clutch
Holy shtein. Double OT.
Rocco better hope this doesn't get back to 18 or he's done
im rooting for tiger to win this more than ive ever rooted for any team in any sporting event that didnt including one of the philly squads
I hate golfers, I hate golf courses
all the same, this sounds like a singularly incredible contest. I look forward to reading some kind of intelligent summary of it once it's all over
game over
rocco's falling apart...
he got saved by that bullshtein grandstand free drop rule

Well, not really. It made it somewhat interesting, but still... Tiger rules, AGAIN!
I mean...if that doesn't make u want a skip a day tomorrow...wheew

Woods is phenomenal. Mediate was equally impressive, though. Going up against the best player ever and giving him everything he could handle says it all.
this was great. a true waste of a monday afternoon, splendid.
now he's done for the year (http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=3450453)
where are the haters now saying he and nbc were being overly dramatical with the knee stuff
He was being overly dramatic with the knee stuff. Mostly because ANY drama around it is unjustified. It's farging golf. No one cares.
Looks like he's going to play a couple more events first:
QuoteWoods had committed to playing in next week's Buick Invitational. He hosts the AT&T National the week after that, at Congressional Country Club in Washington, D.C. A report said he would fulfill his obligations to sponsors at those events.
Woods played only seven times worldwide this year and won five of them. He had been scheduled to play in the British Open in July and defend his PGA Championship title in August; He had never missed a major championship in his career.
Woods also will not be available for the Ryder Cup in September at Valhalla, just outside Louisville, Ky.
the british open and pga championship are now meaningless. golf without tiger just is about as relevant as arena football.

we're trying to keep BigEd from killing himself...didn't you get the memo?
clearly not the same without tiger but majors are still good and jesus the minature golf championships espn2 televises are better than arena football
All football of every sort > golf.

easy is a big boy, he can take care of himself. i trust him.
i don't...he has one in the chamber at all times
oh dear...
so whens graziani gonna come back? hows soul train lookin? is jaws gonna get a good wide out? what about bon jovi, he spending enough money?
If tiger was so hurt, then why the farg would he go to his knees on the putt before the sudden death hole? He's amazing, but dont give me any shtein about how tough he is, its Golf.
awwww, somebody is still mad he made fun of the NHL
not at all, i just dont understand the undying love, tiger lover

exactly...a pastime, not a sport. an ostentatious and wasteful luxury enjoyed by the wealthy and those who worship them..
farg golf
I love playing golf, but its Golf, its not the NFL. If i took off work for a year and played every day, i'd have a shot at playing in golf tournaments, there is no chance ever i get on an NFL team.
maybe I'd enjoy golf if not for the insufferable scumbags who litter the course and clubhouse or the awful waste of resources required to maintain one
Tiger Woods is the greatest athlete of his generation.

The AFL scheduled the divisional round home game at the same time as a Mets/Phillies game @ CBP. Insanity!
Quote from: Lyrics to "Tiger Woods" by Dan Bern
I got big balls
Big ole balls
Big as grapefruits
Big as pumpkins
Yes sir, yes sir
And on my really good days
They swell to the size of small dogs
My balls are as big as small dogs
Well, it ain't braggin' if it's true
Yes sir, yes sir
It ain't braggin' if it's true
Mohammed Ali said that
Back when he was a young man
Back when he was Casius Clay
Before he fought too many fights
And left his brain inside the ring
Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods
Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods
I got a friend whose goal in life
Was to one day go down on Madonna
That's all he wanted
That was all
To one day go down on Madonna
And when my friend was thirty-four
He got his wish in Rome one night
He got to go down on Madonna
In Rome one night in some hotel
And ever since he's been depressed
'Cause life is shtein from here on in
And all our friends just shake their heads
And say, "Too soon, too soon, too soon,
He went down on Madonna too soon
Too young, too young, too soon, too soon"
And it ain't braggin' if it's true
Yes sir, yes sir
It ain't braggin' if it's true
Mohammed Ali said that
Back when he was Casius Clay
Before he fought too many fights
And left his brain inside the ring
Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods
Sometimes I wish I was Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods
If certain girls don't look at you
It means that they like you a lot
If other girls don't look at you
It just means they're ignoring you
How can you know, how can you know?
Which is which, who's doing what?
I guess that you can ask 'em
Which one are you baby?
Do you like me or are you ignoring me?
Do you like me or are you ignoring me?
Do you like me or are you ignoring me?
And all you need to do that
Is one good pair of big balls
Balls as big as grapefruits
Balls as big as pumpkins
Balls as big as mine
But even though my balls are big
Sometimes i wish they were bigger
Even bigger
Big as the wheels on tractors
Big as the golden arches
Big as the Golden Gate Bridge
Big as the state of Kansas
Big as Mars and Jupiter
Big as the swing in Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods

How much you want to bet youre chances are slim?
These guys having been playing since they were in high school or way earlier, have been playing every day and still can even make a fargin cut. It takes so many years to get
consistently good...its ridiculous
Why you're comparing golf to the NFL is another issue--we'll save that for another day

I'll take your word for it

that song is at least 10 years old.
This makes his victory all the more impressive.
He's a pimp. And he deserves every ounce of coverage he gets.
I've played since i was 9 Reese. Played in HS, so dont give me that shtein. If im on the course every day in a year, i could beat Rocco
yeah and if i go to the batting cages for a year the phillies wont have to platoon in right anymore

If that is true, you are a dumbass for not doing it. You would take home 6 figures for finishing in the top 10 at the US open.
I'm gonna start doing pushups every day so I can throw a football into the moon.

Screeching halt on the fun.
Squat thrusts so I can jump over my house?
How will that earn you big dollars and massive acclaim in the sports world, though? Please clarify.
Ladies love thick thighs.
You're trying to get this thread locked. I'm not going to play your little game anymore.
Into the moon, dude. Into the moon.
i used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile
I wish I was somewhere soakin' it up in a hot tub with my soulmate.
