We have some friends in your alliance....the bucs and bears...and kinda wondering if guy would be interested in ...doing a board exchange...or just get the rivalry going since the NFC east is so fierce anyways. I tried emailing and didnt get any response and I don't believe I can PM...but we did it for the taterskins game. In what could have been a mess...ended up being fun...and rewarding. Some guidelines were set by the admin at both boards ahead of time....and the idea was if you disrespected the board you were representing ..you'd hear about it on your own board. The taterskins started some crazy thread...Haikus..of all things..on us..and us on them..and like I said it was just fun. I am a mod at the cowboys board..if its something you'd be interested in or....put your own input in...I am open to suggestions. Doc is our admin guy if anyone has anymore questions...or comments. Just lemme know. We did put a cowboys..eagles banner up that rocks..maybe I'll try and size it down and show you guys. And either way...good luck sunday~~ Deb (dallascowboyfansunited.com)
and I am cowboyznut22 on yahoo. Its a great board here and thanks for your time
I hate to not hate a Cowboys fan, so maybe you can take your grown-up attitude, childlike hopes for harmony, and especially your ellipses, and hit the road?
farg Dallas.
Did Jerrah lock up TO's medicine cabinet this week?
Yeah, after he raided it himself. Plastic sugery is a helluva habit.
This guy assumes that people here care what the others on the board say about them.

I think it's a chick, but it is awful hard to tell them apart in Dallas. A female blob of ignorant racist fat amounts to the same thing as a male blob of illiterate homophobic fat.

Lets just start a list to get it out of the way:
- Yes we cheered when Irvin was almost paralyzed
- Yes we boo'd Santa in the 60's before most of us were born
I'll leave the list open for others to add their own, figured I'd just cover the basics to get us started.
Typical Philly fans... classless.
-All of Philly, the whole fan base, we were all at the NFL Draft in 99 and we all Boo'd McNabb. It wasn't 30 or so guys payed off by a local radio ass.

There's talk about that in the Rest of the NFL area (just an FYI) but he should have gotten the rest of the year off. That was a malicious act and totally premeditated. He should have criminal charges. Hopefully Gurode will file something.
And have Mahe spike TO. We can afford to lose his useless ass for the season.
Birds fans are harassing the hell out of Michael Irvin tonight. He can't talk on Monday Night Countdown without being drowned out by "Irvin sucks!" chants and boos. :yay

He seems to be beginning the implosion even faster this time.
If TO survives the season (strictly football-speaking), Dallas' best bet would be to cut bait.
He seriously needs professional counseling, but he won't get it, and those around him are too busy leeching to steer him in that direction.
Yeah ya know.......the thing with TO is......he's TO. He outta try being like the average person.....working 14 hour days...trying to raise a family. He lives a life and plays a level few ever reach...so guess in that light I am not a fan.
The icehole chants during the half time show were classic!!

I wouldn't worry about the picking his brain thing. With video and teams changing audibles, hots and stuff like that weekly there's not much he can help with. Plus PS guys don't travel with the team so its not like hed be on the sidline dishing out info.

"UNPRECEDENTED" SCENE COMING IN PHILLY
Since the official NFL-licensed buzzword as to the Albert Haynesworth suspension is "unprecedented," we're going to borrow it for a moment (and, hopefully, we won't have to pay a rights fee).
On Sunday, an "unprecedented" scene will unfold in Philadelphia.
Whether it's regarded as beautiful or hideous will be in the eye (or ear) of the beholder (or behearer . . . yeah, it ain't a word but wtf).
Regardless, it will be "unprecedented."
We did a spot earlier this morning with our friends at WIP radio regarding our "Tuna wanted to cut T.O. in September" story, and it's obvious to us that Eagles fans are gearing up for a display aimed at so thoroughly unnerving Owens that he'll ultimately do something that will prompt coach Bill Parcells to cut him in October.
Also, we suggest that the folks with the Guinness Book of World Records get to Philly right now, because on Sunday we'll see a new standard set for the most people ever to simultaneously chant profane and/or obscene words.
"T.O. swallows!" appears to be a popular sentiment, but our money is on a repeated mantra of "F--k you, T.O!" whenever he catches a pass, drops a pass, and/or takes a breath.
Given that the folks at the FCC got their knickers in a knot over a half-second glimpse of Janet Jackson's right breast during halftime of the SUper Bowl, we wonder what they'll have to say about the language that will be broadcast nationally on Sunday, if FOX doesn't take appropriate precautions to block it?
On one hand, the network can argue that it has no control over what members of the public say and do. On the other hand, the network reasonably can foresee that steps need to be taken to insulate viewers from having to hear that stuff.
In our view, FOX is on notice that salty language will be peppered throughout the game, so FOX should be taking steps to ensure that the audience isn't subjected to it. Whether that means leaving the field microphones in the truck or installing soundproofing in the booth from which Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will call the game is something that the folks at FOX will have to decide.
Then there's the FOX pregame show, during which we're convinced that there will be a few creative signs and a few compelling chants from the open-air throng of folks in the background, who'll surely be reprising some of the phrases heard during the ESPN pregame and postgame on Monday night in Philly, especially since former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson is one of the members of the FOX cast.
As to the folks who'll actually be at the game on Sunday, we strongly advise leaving anyone under 14 at home. In addition to the new vocabulary words that Junior might learn (then again, if he's gone to other Eagles games he already knows them), pills and pill bottles and all sorts of other stuff will be flying through the air. Plus, we believe that there's a legitimate risk of fans storming the field and/or various fights and riots throughout the stands.
As one league insider mentioned to us this morning, the dumbest move of all was the decision of the schedule makers to make the game a 4:15 p.m. EDT affair, giving folks an extra three hours to get lubricated in the lot before kickoff.
And because this promises to be one of the biggest regular-season NFL spectacles we can ever recall, we'll be breaking from our Monday night routine and we'll be charting every second of the broadcast, with smart-ass comments from us and from our readers, via a special edition of the PFT Live Blog.

They'd really, really have to falloff for that to happen.
I'm talking season ending injuries to 10+ starters. If in that case, I'll still have scabs to root for, right?

Yeah, but our coach Fat Ass does a better job of keeping him from becoming a problem than your coach Fat Ass could ever hope to. That wide receiver is not an issue in Dallas, just the media.
It's actually working to their benefit, in a way. "Us against the world/media" mentality.
Now, if you want to talk about Vanderjagt, that's another story.

the media is dying for something to happen. someone to say something, some controversy...they want the fans to chant on air, they want the fans to do something stupid, they want TO to react....its the only thing they care about.
this game is big for so many other reasons...divsion game at home, esp considering we lost one already to the giants, and later in the yr we will play 3 in a row on the road. thank god aikman is doing the game and this isnt some monday night game where tony and joe would have talked about everything but the game....but aikman is at least a good analyst.

Won't happen.
See, unlike Joe Banner, Jerry Jones thought about this one.
He can be cut at any time with minimal cap damage. It's a 3 year deal, but works out like three 1 year deals.
Nothing that has happened this season has been directly because of the player, but the media trying to make something happen.
Reason being, he is who he is, the coach is who he is, and the team is (yes) America's Team.
That's why the Eagles didn't have the problem. No one outside of Philly gave a damn until he started mouthing off after the Super Bowl.
For that matter, I'm willing to bet Parcells has another year left in the tank after this one.
Ray, you're still here? I have to say that loitering on message boards of another team is possibly the most colossal waste of time in the history of mankind. It is hard to believe that there is something lamer than posting to a message board comprised of fans of a team that you love. To think that you would even bother to waste your time here is a testament to your lack of a life. Go make sandwiches for homeless people or something.

Your such a fleshpop there raysanti, The whole reason TO wanted his deal renegotiated was because Banner/Rosman had it setup to dump TO at any time, and avoid the cap hell that most teams would face.

You don't know much do you? The original contract TO signed with us was a 7 year deal but was essentially a 2 year deal where he could be cut after the 2nd season with no cap consequences. It was Banner and Reid's safety net in case of a meltdown. THAT was the reason TO hired Rosenhaus and started the whole contract fiasco.
And if any of these media reports are correct, Tuna's already had his fill of TO.

See, you guys claim to know it all.
Off base, gentlemen.
You're correct about the Eagle contract. What you're overlooking is the fact that the organization has that reputation for cutting guys loose at the first sign of decline; In That WR's case, he was worried about, given his broken ankle, befalling the same fate as Hugh Douglas, Duce Staley etc, should he have an off year.
With the Dallas contract, he still gets his $5M signing bonus if cut, but the team suffers minimal cap hit. Only difference here is that he knows if he gets cut from this one, his biggest payday is long gone. If he's a good soldier and plays out the contract and can still contribute, he gets another one, albeit not as big. Different scenario than a 7 year slash contract, wouldn't you say?
And SD, take it from someone who works in media; if you're to believe everything they say, you've got issues

He was forced to sign that type of deal you dipshtein. Its like having a layered contract. Originally he could have gotten what he wanted, then he acted like an ass and we signed him using a safety net. He threw a fit and acted like an even bigger ass so you idiots had to take it to the next level and sign him to that type of deal. What was the best defense that the Eagles have beaten so far again?
Ok, so you want to play that game?
The Cowboys withered up and choked against the only decent team they played. Hell, even the skins, a team Dallas made look pathetic, managed to pull a win out of their asses against the Jaguars. Then, you're coming off a team that could very well be the worst in the NFL. Have the Eagles played stellar teams, or did I claim they have? No. But this is a clear case of pot/kettle. The Titans suck some major, major ass.

Yeah, I made the same point in the other thread.
I'm hoping the Jags just fell into a trap game Sunday, otherwise that loss really, really hurts my pride.

Titans Power Rankings
ESPN - #31
CBS - #31
RF365 - #31
Fox - #31
So maybe they are only the second worst team...
Yeah, at this point you have to give the #32 spot to the Raiders. But they have more talent to possibly win 3-4 games. The Titans are just absolutely hopeless. They stink across the board, especially with Haynesworth out.
It's just hilarious that a fan of a team that just beat the Titans would try to mock the Eagles for not having played great defenses. The Titans are just completely God-awful also.
Dallas played Jax and lost to a team with an average offense and one of the top defenses. Next came a struggling Washington team without a healthy Portis and the old man was horrid in the passing game. And then the Tenn game...Vince Young's first start. It was closer than expected in the first half but then Young started pressing and well that was the end of that game. Tenn is #31 and will be battling it out with Oakland for that #1 pick.
Philly played a better Texan team (Carr has one of the highest passer ratings) and crunched them like they were supposed to. Next came the Giants and they were crunching them and then fell asleep and anything that could have went wrong in that 4th quarter did...causing a loss. If you take away any 1 of like 4-5 plays/calls the Eagles win that game. Next come the Niners who the Eagles beat up on like they are supposed to. Monday night against the Packers, without their top weapon other than 5, missing their starting corner and nickelback, and they pound the pack....and this is after fumbling twice inside the 5 yrd line.
My point I guess is that neither team has really played anyone and the 1 team they did, both lost. The Eagles, IMO, looked better in their loss than Dallas did...

Goateed Man With Own Name on Back of Eagles Jersey: 4/1
The Great Northeast's finest love to spend their hard earned money at Modell's to get their last names stitched on the back of a McNabb jersey. These people want to prove that they're not just fans: They're super fans! Beware of that squatty fella in the black and green. Hey, you can't treat him that way. Don't you know who that is? That's ol' number 5. Dinunzio.
Most likely to be thrown out for: Punch thrown at yellow jacketed security guard.

Man Wearing Sweatpants: 3/1
Fresh off the morning shift at Magglio's Sausage, this guy will smell like a mix of bracciole and Kools and had spent the last 10 minutes before kickoff shot-gunning beers behind Chickie's and Pete's. Once at the game, the first penalty flag will set him off in a profanity-laced tirade about the inconsistencies of holding penalties articulated most effectively by starting the "Azzzz-ole" chant.
Most likely to be thrown out for: Urinating in popcorn box at seat.

Even though she spent all night partying at Brownie's 23 East until 3 a.m. the night before (she knew the bartender), this classy young lady will still rally enough to wake up at 8:30 a.m. to meet the gang down at Pole 8 for some tailgating. She'll be wearing flip-flops, pounding Yuenglings and taking countless pictures of her and her friends with her cellphone. But don't be fooled by the raspy voice, the raucous laughter and how friendly she is to everyone in her section. Go ahead: Ask her to please stop kicking your chair. Or screaming in your ear. Or spilling beer on your wife's back. See how she reacts.
Most likely thrown out for: Spitting at Landmark concession stand vendor who cut her off before halftime.

Dudes in Mike Zordich Jerseys: 3/1
Treat them the same way you treat guys who own pick-up truck with confederate flag mud flaps. The Zordiches (Zordich-i?) cheer the loudest right before kickoff, but halfway through the first quarter, their attention span will turn to stealthily pouring their Hawaiian Punch Rum Runners into white plastic cups, not so tastefully requesting any woman in their section to take their tops off and pointing out people who "need their ass kicked."
Most likely to be tossed out for: Throwing empty cup at black guy in Roy Williams jersey three rows down.
The Black Guy in the Roy Williams Jersey: 1/1
Hey, he probably said something to provoke it.
Most likely to be thrown out for: Causing scene over alleged "cup" thrown at him during game.

a td or long pass completion>sack
all day everyday dallas will trade off those
i also think hes not scared of the eagles blitz....the eagles couldnt get near him last year and hes thinking whats changed this year (especially without kearse)
i think you have to go four man rush for at least the first half and hope killa and howard can create some pressure on their own...i dont see bledsoe picking apart a team in the way a eli manning did...let him try to force stuff deep....of course this is all dependant on someone being able to cover witten and thats a huge questionmark

Wow, what a game. This was a great division win. One of the best ever. McNabb was awesome, and it was great to see that we have receivers besides Stallworth that can get open deep.
The defense really came through this game, especially the secondary. The line was great, getting pressure just about the entire game with 7 sacks. They really dialed it up in the second half. No 4th quarter meltdown this game.

Source: Owens mouths off in locker room after game
Staff and Wire Reports
Terrell Owens' dismay with the Cowboys' performance and his lack of involvement in the offense reportedly did not end when he left the sideline Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
As he ran into the locker room, an animated Owens was yelling and asking why the Cowboys bothered signing him in the offseason, a stadium employee who witnessed the tirade told the Associated Press. He did not want to be identified because he is not authorized to talk about team matters.
A short time later, Owens could be seen talking to team owner Jerry Jones, who appeared to be encouraging the player he personally brought to Dallas.
Owens did not talk to reporters yesterday. Both he and Drew Bledsoe are expected to address the media tomorrow.
In his news conference yesterday, coach Bill Parcells said he knew nothing about Owens' comments on the sideline or on the way to the locker room.
"I didn't see the comments after the game and I don't know what he said," Parcells said. "We had a little trouble getting him involved early. They were trying to take him out of the game. We didn't get him involved as much as we would have liked to."

Post of the year.
Great game. Whats up with the crowd now a days? No arrests. Nothing thrown at T.O. Dallas fans sitting unharrassed in the stands.
The ghosts of the 700 level are very disappointed.
During the week leading up to the game I was watching the NFL network and Marshall Faulk said he played at the game when the fans booed Santa and pelted him with snowballs. If my memory serves me correctly, that happened in 1963 didn't it?
Nobody likes a friggin liar Marshall.
Great article.
Wonder if T.O. gets the message (http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/columnists/15720732.htm)
QuoteDONOVAN McNABB sent Terrell Owens a message Sunday, and this time he made sure T.O. received it.
Owens didn't need to check his BlackBerry. It was all right there on the field in front of him, on the scoreboard, and on the stat sheet.
The message was: Look what you gave up when you let your ego drive you out of here.
Maybe Owens has "25 million reasons" to be alive and to be in Dallas, but watching T.O.'s obvious frustration in catching just three balls for 45 yards against his former team, it's obvious there is something he doesn't have - a quarterback who is as talented as McNabb, and an offense that looks to get the ball to Owens as much as McNabb got it to him in his season-and-a-half as an Eagle. T.O. is 32; it's far from clear that he'll ever be in such a position again.
QuoteThe real story was that Bledsoe was under siege, and not having worked with Owens in training camp because of the famous unhealing hamstring, Bledsoe just doesn't seem to look to T.O. when he's in trouble. He doesn't seem to be able to hit him consistently when he does look. Defenses paid a lot of attention to Owens when he played for the Eagles - with Todd Pinkston on the other side instead of Glenn, they were able to really concentrate on T.O. Yet McNabb got him the ball anyway, to the tune of 124 catches in 21 games, for 1,963 yards. That's 5.9 catches and 93.47 yards per game.
Losing Owens hasn't hurt McNabb. His 1,602 passing yards lead the NFL, as do his 11 TD passes, as does his average of 9.10 yards per attempt. One interception in 176 attempts is a nice little stat, as well.
McNabb has raised the level of his game so far this year. No doubt about it.
Gee, it starting to become readily apparent on 'who made who' now that TO is sucking wind in Dallas.

QuoteTrotter plays the role of unsung playmaker
October 10, 2006
For Eagles fans, Sunday's game against the Cowboys was like a roller coaster ride. Up, down. Up again, down again. It was so draining that Tammi Trotter, watching from a suite in the corner of Lincoln Financial Field, had a headache midway through the second quarter.
Now, with 30 seconds left, another sudden descent loomed just around the corner. Trailing, 31-24, the Cowboys faced second-and-goal at the Philadelphia 6. As Drew Bledsoe dropped back to pass, overtime seemed almost certain.
What 69,268 fans at Lincoln Financial Field and a national TV audience saw next was Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard intercept Bledsoe's pass two yards deep in the end zone and return it for a touchdown that secured a 38-24 Philly victory. What most of those eyeballs didn't notice was Tammi's husband.
Jeremiah Trotter, the Eagles' middle linebacker, was responsible for covering tight end Jason Witten, the primary receiver. First, Trotter jammed Witten as he came off the line. Then, he walled off Witten from going inside. That forced Bledsoe to have to adjust and throw to the outside, where Sheppard was waiting.
"Really, it was partly because of Trotter's coverage that made that interception," said Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson.
A four-time Pro Bowl player, Trotter is one of the best run-stuffing linebackers in the NFL. But in an attempt to stop Witten and wideouts Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens, the Eagles played a lot of cover 2 defense -- they practically dared Dallas to run -- so Trotter spent much of the game dropping into coverage or blitzing.
Even so, he finished with seven solo tackles.
The Cowboys rushed 39 times for 146 yards, including 100 by Julius Jones. Those are numbers that stick in the craw of Trotter, who prides himself on shutting down the run. But the numbers that mattered most after the game were 4-1, the record of the NFC East-leading Eagles.
As he sat at his locker, pulling on a pair of powder blue socks to go with his blue silk tie and blue shirt, Trotter was congratulated by Eagles linebackers coach Steve Spagnuolo. "Lito owes you one," whispered Spagnuolo.
Sheppard deserves credit. He made the decisive play and grabbed the headlines. But he couldn't have done it without Trotter

I was going to make a post about his long passes this year but the board was down. But yeah, he's been nailing the long ball pretty damn perfectly all year. I knew a healthy McNabb would be a top qb, but I didn't expect the kind of play we are seeing now. That TD pass to Brown in double coverage was a thing of beauty, and there is no qb in the league past or present who could have thrown it any better. It was perfect. QuoteEagles Notes | T.O.'s return hands Fox a huge ratings win
Terrell Owens' return to Lincoln Financial Field generated big TV ratings locally for the Fox network.
The Eagles' 38-24 win over Owens and the Dallas Cowboys was the all-time highest-rated regular-season game for Fox, which has been broadcasting NFL games since 1994.
Sunday's game had a 40.1 rating and a 64 share here, which meant it was seen in 1,179,000 households in the area and nearly two-thirds of the sets in use were tuned in.
Before that, the regular-season game with the highest rating for Fox in Philadelphia was the Eagles' 17-7 win over Arizona on Nov. 6, 1994, which drew a 38.4 rating.
Big markets such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco/Oakland and Boston have never had a regular-season rating as high as 40 on Fox.

In the GB game he had 2 drops on the right sideline were he looked over his right shoulder for the ball. Later he had one on the left sideline were he looked over his left shoulder for the ball. It seems like he has a tendacy to look over his outside shoulder to try to pick up the ball. If this is in fact true the coaching staff needs to spot that and fix it.
Well, the Eagles are well known for developing young WRs, so that shouldn't take any time at all.

:-D :-D :-D Yeah, good thing he looked over the right shoulder when he caught that TD. He's definatly dropped some balls, but so has everyone else on the team. I'd be willing to bet if you looked at MURPH'S site, the total for dropped balls over all is pretty high, and I'd say withing the top 5 of the league. If you watch the Jags, their receivers drop a lot also, but they also have a lot of TD's.
Drops will happen, but I've never seen anyone have such trouble turning for the ball like he does.

i agree the shorter passes are a little hard, but big time players, especially if Reggie Brown wants to be one, make those catches. ive come to accept LJ for what he is.
It's pretty clear that he's not going to be one. He can't turn for the ball without tripping over his own feet. I've yet to see him look back for a pass and not do a 360. Even with that, he's a much better #2 than Pinkston was.
I think it is way to early to assume Reggie will never be anything more than a #2 WR. He has had the drops no doubt, but he is absolutely the best young receiver the Eagles have had in a long, long time.

No, he never showed as much promise as Reggie.
It's called sarcasm, dog.
Game of the Week
NFL Network 9pm ET
Tonight
This is the one where they have all the soundbytes and stuff.
so far, i've watched the 90 min replay twice, and DVR'd the hi def version. and i'm going to DVR the GOTW too. i'll be sick of this game by sunday
Best part of the NFL Replay for me was Dawk and Trotter talking to the team after the game. It really showed the leadership that is always talked about.
I'm going to Tivo the game this time and burn it to a DVD. It's a keeper!
