FOX Pregame will be in Philly. Will Chris Snee play? Is Westbrook's injury more serious than they're letting on?
Go Birds.
Let's get this mofo started already.
Go Eagles.
WHO WILL PROTECT THIS HOUSE????
Sal Pal says Snee's expected to start.

Just heard, farg.
and the inflammation is due to some thing they put on his ankle cause of the pre season injury.
great...hes reaching the point where we need to just not have him practice all week.
if he doesnt go moats better step up.
From now on I propose Brian Westbrook is kept in a protective bubble for every single second of his life except when he is on the field. It's really only the logical option left.
We are hurting big time if he can't go.
Sal Pal just said Fragile Boy is going. Yay, now he can ear his ACL.
apparently westbrook said he felt fine and it was up to reid and reid gave the go ahead.

OK, do I sit him or play him on my fantasy team?? Who gets the ball more if he's banged up - Moats or Buck?
There are no major surprises among the Eagles inactives. Cornerback Lito Sheppard is out with an ankle injury. A.J. Feeley is the third quarterback. Also inactive are guard Max Jean-Gilles, tackles Pat McCoy and Winston Justice, wide receiver Jason Avant, defensive tackle Sam Rayburn and defensive end Jerome McDougle.
nah :-\
Snee is activated, but it hasn't been mentioned if he's starting.......
Sinorice Moss is also in the line up this afternoon making his debut.......

SPEED KILLS
Moss won't start, he'll be the #3 behind Toomer and Burress. He may also see some return duty on ST's

All right, who's watching the pre-game??
Anyone hear him talk about how we boo everyone, mentions Santa Claus, and says "Two things about that. One, it wasn't the real Santa Claus, and two, he was asking for it."
HA!
Guy Whimper
Bradshaw is retarded. You already knew that.
No, Tony Cornheiser is fargin retarded. Am I the only one who notices his gay grin, the way he tilts his head subtley? Jesus someone should be fired for letting that douche on TV for more than half hr.
I've been farting pretty much non stop since I got up. I just had leftover spaghetti out of a zip lock bag and I had a month old frozen bagel warmed up in the microwave that had previously been burned and farged up when I tried to cook it out of a pot on the stove. I'm farging ready!
So........anyone going to watch the game today?
There's a game on?
What the hell is Akers doing over on the Giants bench?!
Akers is a beast.
Toomer for 9.
NICE HIT!
McCoy with a TFL. I told you bitches he'll be good.
Somebody calm that sissy down. We don't need Simoneau kicking again.
Incomplete on first down.
Jevon Kearse was absolutely worthless that play. That's the worst pass rushing "move" I've ever seen.
Seriously, why the hell is Joselio Hanson on Plaxico Burress? Stupid ass shtein.
What the farg.
That was pathetic.
Who forgot to cover Toomer?
Mike farging Lewis. Do not re-sign that man.
Why does the defense go on the field the first drive? Just let them score on the first play to conserve time.
Well THAT sucked.
Dexter Wynn sucks. I hate that he snuck his way back onto the team.
Huge gain by LJ, great protection by the line.
LJ, LJ, LJ,LJ
Nice pass to LJ. I get scared when I see him running with the ball out like that though.
Westbrook having a pass bounce off his hands? Yeesh.
So far: Big game for LJ, not so big game for Westbrook.
LJ picking up more yards when he could have easily stepped out. :yay
LJ holding the ball gives me baby heart attacks.
That's more like the BWest we know and love.
Westbrook picking up a first down, nearly ankle-tackled.
Incredible catch by Westbrook!
Holy shtein, that was some catch! :o
Die Schoebel!
Scho Boat bobbles a sure TD.
Schoebel you POS POS POS POS
Buck cuts and ducks for a first down.
I swore that was Brian Finneran on that non-TD.
First CBuck sighting of the day. C'mon, let's get a frickin TD here.
Thank god they called that incomplete.
Uh oh, challenge time.
Damnit.
They SHOULD call that incomplete. Him and Stallworth were both fighting for the ball and Madison didnt have complete possession until his back was on the back line.
I don't have a good feeling about this. :boom
Whew!
Wow, Coughlin almost farged himself there.
From the Eagles 8 to the Giants endzone! :yay
Typical Westbrook TD. I heart that Giant killer.

Imagine if Westbrook had great durability. He'd be the shtein.
What the farg, my exclamation points dont show up.
Emmons getting caught flat footed was kool.
WESTBROOK!
Now, someone tell the @#(*@#*@#&*&@#(* Defense that the game has started.
Good thing the returner ran into his own blockers.
In other news, Drew Brees lost 2 fumbles in 5:15. Culpepper fumbled twice, but they recovered both times.

I thought the defense did a decent job other than that one play. I'm used to seeing Tiki go out there and put up 200 yards on us.
Tiki running outside isn't working. Everything else is.
What happened to Bartrum?!
Once again, the d-line is getting no pressure.
Gints avging 9.9 yrds/play...g.d.
3rd and 8, a stop would be nice here.
:yay Defense finally clamped down on this bullshtein.
Patterson with a sack on Eli!

Um... wrong direction, fellas.
The Eagles scored from the 8, I'm not sure why they are so intent on trying it from the 3 now.
Baskett!

Killa Cole!
I'm going to wack off thinking of our front four. brb.
I'm actually okay with Feagles punting out of bounds all game.
Feagles is kicking very well
Well, Reid called a run. A stupid run.
Buck with a superb run of one yard.
STILL...KEEP RUNNING THE BALL!

Does anyone know how to play defense in this game?

And I'm loving it.
Fact: The 2006-2007 Philadelphia Eagles are clearly superior to the 2006-2007 New York Giants.

Now can we get a freaking running play or two?
At least for the first 20 minutes of the game.
Great kickoff. Short's fighting again.
Short's going to get a Razzie for worst actor.
You see Short decleat that guy? God I love him when he doesn't draw 15 yard p.f.'s
Sheldon stops the screen. Nice.
ok now we should run the ball now. i mean we are up. isnt that reid's philosophy. it would be so sweet if buck or west break a long one...it would kill the giants.
Damn you Dhani!
Terrible with penalties today.
HE jammed Shocky
Another hit on Eli.
Thomas is the team's best DE right now.
Snee's upset about those knee injury rumors.
suck on that snee

Manning running for his life. ;D

LOSER!
hahhaha anyone see shockey go whatever ref....u deserve to fall...get out of my way! :-D

They don't have an answer for LJ
A run for no gain. Do it again, but for more yards!
Westbrook RUNS for a first down. Terrible spot by the reft. :D
very very generous spot
It's about time for a Reggie Brown sighting.
McNabb stumbles for a first down. Bernie Kosar lives!
the hurry up offense? I dig.

not good not good...with another 3 pts we could have been able to retain momentum but it could shift now.

LJ Smith loses his helmet on the play.

Westbrook picked up positive yards.
Tapeh picks up the first and then gets pushed back ten yards.
It'd be nice to get a touchdown here without giving up any more points this half. Eagles get the ball after halftime and there's potential to get a rout started. Hopefully they won't farg up the clock management.
we need some more pts going into the half. we have been dominating but we are only up by 7 and the giants are good enough to comeback. even 3 pts will do.
Buckhalter showing some moves on that catch.
Bucky and Donte!
Stallworth with another first down.
Stallworth just short of the first that one.
Stallworth will not even get close to 1,000 yards!!!

He misses Neckbeard. Also, he's sucked since last year.
McNabb looked really good until Akers' missed FG. Looks like shtein since. He's thrown 31 times in the first half, which I dont like even though its effective.
They've been okay running the ball. Good and bad. About a 4 YPC average. Dont know why Reid passed 3 times in a row on 2nd and 1.
L.J really needs to work on his hands and where to hold the ball. He dropped 2 passes, but looked good otherwise.
Dexter Wynn isnt completely worthless. :o
The defensive line farging kicks ass. Cole and Juqua, the two backups, have a combined 5 sacks this year in 6 quarters. Awesome.

Will the God of the Run game please come down and kick andy in his fat fargin ass. We had 2, 3rd and short downs and what do they do, pass, of course and then the 4-1 and they run another pass play!
That is really my only gripe...we are lucky right now our defense is shutting down Eli because the playcalling is whorebul. Oh and Schoboat should be fired for that drop.
Will Andy run the ball in the second half? Maybe, hopefully he's got some sort of plan.
Game ball right now goes to the D-Line. Great job so far.
A Baskett appearance! A Lewis appearance. Stallworth and Little John are ripping it up. Westy looks 100&. Where is Reggie Brown? Mad props to the O-line. Everyone is doing there part, but the coach needs to call the plays better. Otherwise the team looks unbeatable.
:yay :yay
p.s. - any news on Hood?
Hood was traded for a 7th round pick in the '08 draft. The Broncos really wanted him.
no lelie!?! FARG
They want Darwin for Lelie.
Wynn looking good on an ugly kickoff.
deal
Westbrook picks up 13 on the handoff.
Kosar takes another stroll for 7.
Let go guys another 7
McNabb trips on the handoff, Westy picks up a solid yard.
Stallworth with another first down.

Buck with 5 yards.
I'm so glad Westbrook is a guy the Eagles never have to face.
Westbrook's gloating. He's up for an ankle injury soon.
Reggie with a great grab and a TD.
Reggie Brown: All he catches are TDs!

Truly a tale of two halves. That lucky farg Giants TD really turned things. 60 seconds to go... c'mon Philly D.
This is usually the part of the game where the defense plays prevent and lets the other team methodically march down the field. :boom
Tiki catches one on the sideline for 7.

They can't review that, there was another play.
The Colts were beating the Texans so bad they didn't even finish showing the rest of the game here. The CBS football show's been on until the start of the Chiefs game.
C'mon, you can't review after another play!
he spiked the ball no dam replay
:boom
this is bullshtein HE SPIKED THE BALL :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom
they can't do that, or call a holding penalty on the giants either.
Rudy Giuliani is running the replays. :paranoid
What a waste of time.
it should be second down
What the farg is going on here?
Damnit!
OMG
I'm still not understanding how that spike play was taken off the books!

FARGING OT
Poor bastiches at the game can't even get a drink

The second half has been absolutely horrendous.
Worst fourth quarter ever.
we gave up 17 fouth quarter points :boom :boom :boom
They were up 24-7 going into the 4th and they allowed 17 unanswered.
Pathetic.
i cant believe this. this is the worst bday ever.
Let's state again, for the record, how HORRIBLE Dexter Wynn is in coverage.
Giants win the toss. :boom
Giants receive. This game is over.
This is turning out to be one hell of a weekend for me so far... wow, zesty.
This is a farging mess. Great job iceholes.
They desperately need another corner. Right now.
Great... I don't think I can watch the OT... this sucks.
They better pay Hood some serious cash because after the top 3 corners they have no one with Hanson a rookie.

This is absolutely sickening.
Why are they putting Hanson on Burres?
My students better not say one word tomorrow.
we could have lost by a lot and i wouldnt care. but to lose like this?
kill me.
awesome.
this is an obvious loss. the defense is toast, and even if they get the ball back, the offense won't do shtein.

You'd rather have him on Toomer? He'd blow right past him.
The Eagles really need to learn how to recover fumbles. Coulda ended the game right there.
wow.. another fumble that the eagles dont recover.
Kearse injured. :boom
Kearse is hurt again. Wee!
A conversion here will kill me.
They really do need a FALL ON THE FOOTBALL drill. Too many people want to make the highlights and scoop up the ball. Just fall on the damn thing.
Patterson with the sack! Kearse is dying.
8th sack on Eli. And Kearse is hurt afargingain!
SACK!
Where the hell was this say, 10 minutes ago?
Kearse is hurt again... again.
Oh god that was ugly.
this isn't good..
it doesnt matter. our offense wont do anything. im sensing a mcnabb INT coming up.
Damn DVR... missed a few minutes of the recording.
Let's hope the Offense can do farging SOMETHING for a change.
I would not be surprised if Kearse is done for the year.
now the offense actually has to do something, after i'm sure what will be wynns awesome return.
From the looks of Kearse, they should be using the cart.
Put Westbrook back there to return...
Great job by Wynn.
Who the heck is wearing Wynn's jersey?
Is it wrong that during that whole run I was more worried about him dropping the ball than happy about the return?
Amazing.... c'mon Offense, get some farging yards now!
They have to end this game here. I don't want to see the defense go back on the field.
Looking at the replay, the pidgeons were making some nice blocks for him.
Offense + Akers: Don't farg up now!
Kearse is going out on the cart now. He's done.
we need 25 yds. but of course mcnabb will throw a INT
and kearse looks like he is done for the yr.
Stallworth drops a hard pass.
Not the most opportune time for a Stallworth drop.
LJ screen was spotted before the snap.
Great, the Eagles are playing panic ball, throwing on every down and getting nowhere.
Giants are losing LBs faster than the Eagles are losing CBs.
good ratio. one major injury to a starter per game.

What the hell- can't anyone catch anymore?

It's the ineptitude of not only not moving the ball but giving the Giants a wealth of time to get down the field in return.
And hell, after this clusterfarg a tie would be a God send.
Tiki cuts back and gets 9. A Sheldon Brown sighting on the tackle.
Great, now Tiki is loose. :boom
wow, look a run. hope the eagles coaching staff is taking notes.
great see how they can just run for 1st downs now.
Giants are whittling their way into FG range.
This could be the worse 180 I've ever witnessed.
this is disgusting. we had our chance. if only the D can cause a turnover. but right now it seems like the giants will march down for the FG. we had great field position and everything. great.
Now the Giants have a chance to go deep before they get some new downs.
eli now has more completions then mcnabb.
Dawkins is going apeshtein. It would be perfect if he got tossed.
OMG BS

See, this is why them not taking ANY time off the clock was bad. The Giants have no hurry.

EXCELLENT FUMBLE, WESTBROOK.
This is the most disgraceful loss in Eagles history.
On top of that we lost Hood and Kearse. We have no secondary now, but the defense didn't lose us this game. The offense did. You can't excuse about 30 minutes of not getting a single point.
What's worse is they had the game won. Totally and completely. The Giants were dead in the water. Then they get a lucky TD and the entire teams folds like wet paper.

The offense didn't even need points in the 4th, they needed 1st downs and couldn't get a God damn one.
You can't fault Sheldon there, he's going to lose that matchup every time.
As soon as Carter got that lucky TD on the fumble, I knew we'd lose the game. I had that feeling in my stomach.
No way they should have lost this game. NO EFFING WAY. >:(
It shouldn't have even gotten to that play. The D let them roll right down the field. Once they crossed midfield it was over.
Not even sure what to say. All the way around they farged it up. McNabb, Jim Johnson, Andy, Trent Cole, Westbrook, the corners, the recievers, akers...
Fumbles happen, Joselio Hanson getting ripped a new one happens considering hes a 4th corner...but what annoys me the most was andy reid and mcnabb farging around in the 4th instead of taking time off the clock. Calling passing plays, not taking all the time off the play clock...thats inexcusable. They handed this on a silver platter to the Giants. What a joke.
There is no way to describe my disappointment
Dexter Wynn is the worst farging corner in the entire NFL. Im farging serious. He sucks. I dont know why the farg they signed his farging ass instead of Strickland. Wynn farging sucks.

I live in North Jersey, and have to see the Meadowlands every day from my office window. Horrible loss, and I'm going to hear about it all farging week. Horrible.
Not even one of the other two hated teams dropping to 0-2 makes this ANY better. Philly gave up an early choke hold on the division today. They had the chance to silance all the critics and they choked hard. The ENTIRE team. I'm so pissed...
I'll hear about it... at least until the 4th or 5th detention I issue. Then they'll get the "message." >:D
At best, this team might go 2-4 in the division this year. This was a must win game and they phoned it in.

BS. Sheldon doesn't play the ball when it's in the air. You saw it last week vs Andre Johnson and this week vs Burress. He doesn't have to make the pick, but he needs to at least get a hand up there. Do something instead of always letting the guy catch the ball. :boo
Also I don't know if anyone agrees, but I think going for that 4th and 1 late in the game was MORONIC. Punt the damn ball, back then up inside the 20. What a bad stupid call. On top of that you run the most basic play that gets blown right up.
Hood better get back next week. He should.
I still don't gget that review after the ball was snapped. That was some BS.

They said that the ref was buzzed before the snap. Wasn't really enough time for him to stop the play that never happened before it happened.
This loss would be easier to swallow if we didn't lose 2 key players. Kearse looks like he's done for the season, but a heel contusion should only keep Hood out 2 weeks at most if that. Good thing we got 2 cake games coming up.
Talk about feeling sick.. they GAVE the Gints that game with terrible play calling on BOTH sides of the ball in the 4th and OT. JJ has NO feel for the flow of the game, I swear.. He blitzes when he shouldn't and he doesn't when he should...then when he does, he shows his hand pre snap, then they all blitz up the middle, where its EASY to clog it up...unreal. And the Offense...pffft. We couldnt PAY this team to run the ball all these years, and now they wanna run right in to the beef of the GINTS line during critical posessions. WTF...u gash em outside all day, and then when u need to preserve the win, u run over center? We also saw why LJ will never be a great TE in this league...he comes up SMALL when he is needed most. I guess the ball hit him in the wrong place....the hands! While this staff has made the Eagles a successful team again, I also think they have blown their own chances, when it comes to winning a SB...it's this kind of bad play calling and Andy's lack of killer instinct that does it. I hope they learned a valuable lesson today...ALWAYS cut the head off the snake when u can, before he bites you!
On the flip side...Kudos to D-Mac and the O-line. They did their part, in spite of the bad play calling. Shout out to the 8 man D-line too....that was impressive until JJ pulled back the reigns. I also have serious issues with the officiating in this game. How in HELL can they replay that call, AFTER the next play was run? Simple...THEY CANNOT! Andy shoulda been on that field flipping out. Oh....and the freakin OBVIOUS two handed jersey grabbing from behind, by the Gints O-line...they got away with like 8 very obvious holding calls from BEHIND, that were in plain view when they were badly beaten...Nice Job officials...The Ref's ought to be taken out back and whipped, fined a game check, then shot in head. What the farg is with Mike Lewis? He had a hand in 14 points for those fargers today. The blown coverage on the 1st Toomer TD... and JUST FALL ON THE fargING BALL!!!! YOU PIECE OF shtein!!!! :boom :boom :boom
Andy should be shot for both of those 4th and 1 plays. You farging tease us all preseason with Nick Cole as the lead blocker and you don't try it either time. Same ol' shtein with the pass on 4th down, which all but gave it away the 2nd time we tried it.
Westbrook... you've gotta hold on to the mutherfarging ball when we're trying our tired ass version of killing the clock. You shteinted on your whole performance with that one play.
Same with Trent Cole. That stupid penalty shteinted all over a great performance today.
Stallworth and LJ... try holding onto the farging football. Y'know, considering it's Overtime and all. fargers.
On top of everything else... we lose Hood and Kearse... Kearse probably for the year.
What a farging day.
I'm not as critical of them for not running as I'm hearing. While it would've been smart, we were getting NOTHING on the ground. Every run was a 1 yard or no gain. Once out of every 8 or so runs Westbrook would bust an 8 yarder. What I didn't like were the damn play calls in the passing game. LJ Smith had the best first half of any TE ever pretty much and he gets like 2 catches in the second half, one being a conservative screen.
It's funny. You figure you shut down Tiki and we win right?
This reeks of the loss in Tennessee to open 2002.
Mike Lewis not falling on the ball.
Getting 8 sacks on that bitch and STILL LOSING.
SHUTTING DOWN TIKI AND STILL LOSING.
They took thier foot off the gas and couldn't put it back. They had this team DEMORALIZED. FARG!
The Eagles thought they had this one wrapped up and they farging CHOKED.
Lewis did fall on the ball. I wouldn't blame him for that. He didn't try to pick it up. His momentum made him roll over and the ball flew out. He did fall on it though.

Lewis fell on it, then someone fell on him. He just didn't have time to secure it. The Giants just got lucky they had someone that could secure the ball. It was purely a lucky play, that's all. The second fumble though... :boom
Our QB is about 240...if anything, that should have been a QB sneak.
Andy panicked plain and simple. Morons are calling up WIP and trashing McNabb. McNabb had nothing to do with this loss. It was on the coaches, and the stupid mistakes. McNabb did all he could with what was given to him.
It's early. It sucks to lose this way, and believe me, I'm gonna pay way worse than any of you iceholes for watching the whole game (refused to go to the mother-in-law's bday party to watch OT), but there's still a lot of season left. This win would've made everything a lot easier though.
This is just sickening.
I'm going to go get piss drunk and root for the taterskins to lose and TO to break his neck.
This loss is awful, and I'm furious, but I agree. The season isn't over, not by a long shot. I'm furious, I'm angry, I'm upset, but I'm not going to panic and say the season is done. No way.

It's a simple farging way to fall on the ball. It's taught in farging high school. Run to the ball and slide into it. Secure it on your slide and got into a farging fetal position. He had no one knocking him around before he got to the ball. He should have come up with it.
One more thing before I go kill myself...
If Akers hits that FG or if LJ makes that catch in OT - we win. I can make a list of 10 choke jobs this game. I just keep coming up with more.
THEY SHOULD HAVE WON THIS MOTHERFARGING GODDAMN GAME>
Akers should have made it, but let's face it, there is absolutely no point to blame Akers. That was in what, the 2nd quarter? Early 3rd? The Eagles had way too much time to farg it up and they took advantage.
Akers miss had nothing to do with it. They scored another TD and a Figgie AFTER that miss to go up 24-7. Yeah he missed a long one, but that had nothing to do with anything if the O and/or D did anything in the 4th quarter. They sucked that entire period and blew the game. Of all the people to blame, Akers is WAY down the list because his miss was negligible in the grand scheme of things.
Every freaking member of the Philadelphia Eagles had a hand in this choke-job.
Akers missed a field goal.
McNabb threw a few worm-burners to open WR.
Stallworth had a drop.
LJ had a drop.
Cole had the penalty.
Lewis was burned.
The list goes on and on.
I'm nauseous just thinking about it.
So if you guys had to pick one thing that cost the Eagles the game, what would it be?
Yes, I know it's hard to choose with the billion things that went wrong.

The Philadelphia Eagles
1 thing? Coaching. Coaching farged up a sure win once again. This game was a like a horrid replay of that opening loss to the Titans from a few years back. I said that earlier. They choked away the game in almost the exact same fashion. They called off the D and went zone and Reid went all cute with the play calling instead of going for the juggular until there wasn't enough time left of the clock for the opposing O to do anything to win. If you have a tape of that game and can stomach watching it, it'll look a lot like today's suckfest, I promise you.

Andy panicked plain and simple. Morons are calling up WIP and trashing McNabb. McNabb had nothing to do with this loss. It was on the coaches, and the stupid mistakes. McNabb did all he could with what was given to him.
Amen, brother...I'm getting pretty sick of all these idiot's who swear they know football, and luv to bash D-Mac. He is NOT the problem and never has been. Blame the coaching staff and their play calling. That dates all the way back to the 1st NFC title game too. Sure, he has thrown some pic's in big games...but they werent ALL his fault. Fault Fred Ex for breaking the wrong way, out of his route in the ram's game. Thank The play calling in the Buc's title game, and thank ALL the Garbage WR's who coughed up the ball in the Carolina game. I love how NOBODY ever mentions the beating D-mac took in 3 of those title games either. He was hammered in those games, and still stood in there and tried to do what he could, with the garbage WR's he had, and a staff who refuses to commit to the running game, unless it's predictable. When you look at this QB's body of work, it's actually pretty amazing he has done half of what he has, with what they have provided him over the years. I have ZERO complaints about this QB, and anyone who does, is a moron who needs to follow another sport.

That's a key play, but I really that Andy going for that 4th and 1 and not getting it really shifted the momentum too.
the wait till next sunday is going to be unbearable.
Mike Lewis needs to go. I want to see DBs drafted on day one next year.
Lewis has sucked this year and a lot of last year too. Shame but he's just been in a bit of a freefall for a while and I don't get it. He used to be awesome in coverage, now he's a liability.
What's freak's status...looked out for the year. Bright side...I hope this beligerant coaching staff learns from this. ALso...better to happen now, and get it out of their system, then to happen later in the season. BTW....I also luv how the ref called that catch from BEHIND the play, when Dawk had more of the ball then the WR did....Effen unreal! :boom
Words cannot describe how I feel right now. I had a gut feeling right before the 4th quarter that we were going to lose. This team owes us a big apology. Andy Reid owes us an apology. The media shouldn't even give them the time. They are just blowing this off. Oh its a long season, we have time...blah blah....you guys gave up, called horrible plays and gave the giants a well lubed ass to knut in. way to go guys! farg farg farg farg farg :boom

the thing that really sucks is that compared to the rest of the nfc east we have a easy schedule, on paper, to start the season. we should have taken advantage. lets hope we are 3-1 when the cowboys come into town.
The Phillies are still playing?
we have great depth, but they got to the QB once in the 4th/overtime qtrs. kudos for 1st half but second half they did not do their job. no penetration at all and just let plaxihoe make hanson look like a down syndrome cripple. why no double teams on him? sheldon has no excuses, he's good enough to handle one on one, but hanson! are you kidding me, he's 5'9" and has zero ability! It's going to be that way until the Cowboys game. Everyone will rip the Eagles mercilessly because they're playing the 49ers and the farging Saints, so those games dont count. One of the worst parts of this is that people will say the Eagles will always choke against good teams. This could have happened to any team.
It could have, but nobody else blew a huge lead like that today. At least not that I know of. I'm not really paying attention, so it could have happened in every game.
The point is, cut Lewis.

The season isn't over yet.
The season will be over however if the Eagles have more than one loss by the time TO rolls into town.
Someone should cut Buckhalter's knees off and give them to Kearse.

Every time this dude touches the ball I cringe. He holds the ball like a dirty diaper. Had a great day until the second half, but the same could be said for the entire team.
Another thing that pisses me off is every single year we have one of those losses where this team needs to "learn from their mistakes and move on" and every year we have yet another. None this embarassing, but we've lost games we should've won before. Every time it happens we always point to Andy and his conservative play calls. When will this end?
Andy's always going to take the blame, that's just how he deals with the press. Still, it's not him out there on the field. He can call a lot of stupid plays for the offense, but the offense wasn't completely responsible for the loss.
Well, I agree basically. There were so many mistakes this game where uyou can't pin point one thing or person as being completely at fault.
That's why we lost the game. So many mistakes, so many meltdowns all across the board. If you take away just ONE stupid thing we win this game. Take your pick. Remove Trent Cole's stupid play, LJ's drop, Westbrook's fumble, the 4th and 1 call, any one of those removed would've equated to an Eagles win. That's what makes it so frustrating. There were so many could'ves would'ves and should'ves.
Take away one mistake, and it was still a pitiful effort.
I wish they had shown a good view of Cole kicking the guy. Who the hell does that? Who the farg does he think he is, Marcus Vick? He's lucky he's good or he'd be cut the next day.
Dexter Wynn should be cut right now. I dont give a shtein that we'd have only 2 healthy corners.
Wynn had good return efforts. If anyone, cut Mahe and sign another corner.
I'm going to go ahead and sum this game up.
When you're dominating a team, put the game away and don't farg around.

I agree he was bad in coverage, but IMO, even though he sucks, you need to stockpile DBs(good or bad) on this roster with the way they are dropping.

Mike Lewis is not a DB. He's a linebacker. I was half-kidding when I said something in the off-season about playing him at SAM LB instead of Dhani, but now I wouldn't kid at all. The guy has awful coverage instincts.

arizona
tennessee
dallas
giants
how many of these choke jobs are the birds gonna go thru before someone realizes this guy cant coach in big spots...dook is clueless
martarano made a great point on the post game show too...how shallow is andys taking the blame for all these kinds of losses when hes in the pocket of the owner...its so easy to take the blame when you no there are no repercussions for what youve done...
im sick of that and im sick of donovan in huge spots where the offense doesnt get the job done tapping his chest when he throws a worm burner or laughing and slapping the hands of the wr who just dropped a pass...farging kill that happy go lucky crap and make a play when you most need one
eli did exaxctly what i said hed do..wing the ball all over the field for 8-12 yard completions and first downs for a high completion %...in fact he threw for over 70%...who was on here the other day clownin me saying he could never throw for a % like that and that he wasnt that good...well guess what he won the game when it was needed to be won while mcnabb went to sleep
the homers will spin this game and say the eagles are the better team and they dominated for three quarters blah blah blah...well not true...the eagles are a 9-7ish team who will beat the houstons and san frans of the league and lose to the better teams like the giants and cowboys and will miss the playoffs...and 9-7 is a a shame cause it will bring andy back for another year of excrutiating losses and the same ole same ole...you almost want them to implode to get him out...then again will lurie ever fire him?
farg.
So Andy's play sheet has the following?
-- 4th-and-1 failure
-- Westbrook fumble
-- McNabb joke around and get a false start called on yourself
-- Kick an offensive lineman and show him who's boss
Igy, sweetie, retard, he's the head coach. He takes the blame no matter what happens because he's not the kind of coach that points anyone out in a press conference. Doesn't matter if it's his playcalling, Morningwood doing crack on the sideline, McNabb getting penalized for being a dumbass, Mike Lewis handing the Giants 14 points, Jim Johnson calling the worst 8 sack game I've ever seen, Sheldon being too short, or Banner cursing out players for asking for money.
The only homers are people like you IGY, who have little or no faith in this team. Who take shots at McNabb because of his personality. Are you kidding me?

Stallworth dropping that ball and LJ dropping one too in OT were big plays that should have been made.
Donovan deserves blame for the stupid penalty. That's it.
the game was a little closer than i thought but i essentially called it right on point...eli works the eagles all over the field and wins the game...today was his coming out party and he has now officially taken mcnabbs best qb in the divison title
head to head one qb came up short and the other didnt...ill let you guess which is which...in mcnabbs defense tho he does have one of the worst play callers in the league running his offense...but still make a play when it counts...he couldnt do it...end of story
Stallworth dropping that ball and LJ dropping one too in OT were big plays that should have been made
i dont at all blame the game on mcnabb...he did not lose it by any means...at the same time he did nothing when it mattered to win it...but the loss goes on andy no question
Ignoring the drops, IGY? I'm shocked that you'd ignore what really happened and go right after McNabb regardless. Also you are anointing Eli as a god but yet fail to blame JJ or the DBs for playing soft.
eli is by no means a god...but hes better than mcnabb right now
two quarterbacks went head to head in the second half of a huge game...one was incredible and one was average
blame it on drops blame it on the cb's....whatever will allow you to sleep tonight...the bottom line is the other qb won the game
but again im not blaming mcnabb...just saying he got outplayed by a better qb today
Eli is not better than McNabb. Thats crazy.
mcnabb is what he is...eli has yet to get near his potential and even at his current state he outplayed mcnabb today...so i will respectively disagree with that call
2 things:
1. The Eagles shouldn't have even been in the position to blow this. Forget the mistakes late in the game. If the Eagles actually score on a lot of the opportunities from the first half and 3rd quarter, the Eagles should've been in the 30's point wise if they managed the game correctly.
2. I don't get how they kept going to Toomer and Plexiglass all day in the 4th quarter, yet the Eagles didn't adjust. Pass after pass after pass underneath. Yet nothing was done to stop it. I understand Hanson was in the game, but he was in the 3rd quarter, and they didn't score in the 3rd. Jim Johnson's defense looked outstanding in the first half, and even the 3rd quarter, but they were gassed and totally melted down by the 4th.
igy, what makes you happier, an Eagles win or convincing everyone that you're always right after a loss? The "ha ha I told you so" crap is annoying...
Sure is tough to tell sometimes, huh?
McNabb can be blamed for a few plays, but he's not the reason they lost the game, which is what IGY's saying. Eli made a few plays in the 2nd half, but he was far from impressive. The Eagles lost this game much more than the Giants won it
This game falls on Andy Reid and his pathetic "i don't want to run up the score because i'm a nice guy" bullshtein. they should've been running their offense in the 3rd and 4th quarter just like they did in the 1st half.
oh, and the myth of this great run blocking offensive line was totally exposed today
McNabb was great today. Claiming Eli is better is such a stupid assertion IGY. I konw you like to "live on the edge" but blaming anything on McNabb today is hilarious. SO much blame can be spread around for blowing this but piling blame on McNabb? Please. :boo

Eh, I think it was less a myth than the fact that Reid kept calling runs right up the gut into the face of Giant blitzes. Nevermind a play action pass or anything like that, he just kept running the backs right at the heart of the Giants D. Insanity!
Oh, and leaving Hanson on an island as a rookie corner after he kept giving up big chunks of yardage was stupid as well.

Wrong. The line's run-blocking was crap.
I never liked Shockey...but being at the game today I came to appreciate what a total ass he really is. Whenever the Gnats defense was on the field, so was he...yelling at the refs, yelling at Coughlin to review plays...basically just being a total gay tool.
im glad there isn't a home game for a couple weeks. because right now, i'm so disgusted with this loss that i don't want to take the time to go down there. im sure that will change by the time the next home game rolls around, but just the same, i'm glad it's not this Sunday.

Or, you could respectfully (as "respectively" makes no sense) take a day to cool off and realize you don't know what you're talking about. Reid's 4th and 1 call was his biggest mistake. Otherwise, you're looking for reasons to blame him and not the players.
--Mike Lewis is a liability in the pass game and failed to fall on the ball. 14 points for the Giants directly off him.
--Rod Hood's injury happened early and loomed large.
--Following Hood's injury, Jim Johnson thoroughly tried too hard to overcoach and called WAY too many blitzes. He probably figured the Giants would expect him to give help to his depleted secondary, but he fooled them... especially on that last play of the game. BRILLIANT D!
--Cole's kick was completely asinine and basically was far bigger than anything positive he did in the game.
--No less than 5 drops on great passes.
--Run-blocking sucked ass.
I could go on, but it's not worth it. You love to blame Reid, and he deserves his share for this loss... which is not nearly as much as you or he would think.

Forgot to mention this, but am I the only one who thought Andy should've challenged Toomer's TD catch? He got his feet in, but after the first foot touched and right before he touched his second foot, he juggled the ball a bit. I was thinking maybe it could've been overturned, but probably not. At that point I think it was worth a challenge. They were leading and didn't really need timeouts.

IGY, I know you must of been piss-wasted after the game to claim Eli was better than Mcnabb today. one of your worst posts besides the taterskins WR's are one of the best set in the league
The WR's dropped passes when it truly counts, stupid-ass penalties and Andy Reid/Jim Johnson and their farging 4th quarter prevent/soft zone defense that hes been using for the last 4 years cost them this game
prevent defense in the 4th = "prevents" you from winning the game

ge99's analysis on Mike Lewis:
QuoteMike frustrates me.
He is a good SS. He can be physical vs the run. He can hit. However, his cover skills are more marginal than they should be. The biggest problem as I see it is that Mike lacks good instincts. He's got to sense things better than he does.
I could live with him getting burned in coverage if he was an impact hitter. Mike isn't. He's good, but Sean Taylor and Roy Williams are impact hitters. They punish guys. Mike will unload a good shot, but nothing that wakes up the other team.
I know a lot of people compare Mike to Roy. Mike has 5 sacks and 7 INTs in his career. Roy has 6.5 sacks and 14 INTs. Mike Lewis has not made one huge play in his career. He's solid, but hasn't developed into a top player as I'd hoped.
Yes.

Frpm King's MMQB:
QuoteHow do the Eagles recover from that one? I asked Jeremiah Trotter what it was like in the Philly locker room after the loss to the Giants. "Quiet as a church mouse,'' he told me. "No one saying anything. Just shock. Everywhere, man. This will have a hangover for two days. I want it to be like that. We need to feel how bad this hurts. It's a lesson we've got to learn -- finish the game. And I want this bad taste to stay in our mouths till Wednesday, so we can feel the hurt and never want to hurt like this again.''
Just then, Jerome Bettis heard me on the phone with Trotter. "Tell him to hang in,'' Bettis said. So I passed the phone to Bettis. "Hey,'' Bettis said, "you guys got something going down there. Hang in there. Don't let those boys get down.'' It will be Trotter's and Brian Dawkins' job -- they're the two guys who run that defensive ship -- to make sure that loss is not a fatal one.
That would be inspirational if King, Trotter, and Bettis didn't have the combined IQ of my basset hound.

But in the 4th quarter, they looked hauntingly like the '05 team.
Not a lot of resiliancy on display yesterday, that's for sure.
Way too many missed opportunities in the second half of this game, a missed field goal, dropped passes, bad, bad passes, just too many times we could have scored and didn't. We had this game won, all we needed was a score in the second half, any kind of points on the board. This is one that the Eagles let slip away, gave away, whatever. Say all you want about the great Manning bloodline, the Eagles gave this game away on a silver platter, and I hope it's a wake up call.

I blame Garcia for the loss. He sabotaged the team because of his love for Strahan's bunghole.
You've got your top and bottom mixed up there.
You're right. Feeley's got much more glow around his head than McNabb or Garcia. And his Eagle is facing the right so that shows he's a rebel.

Neither Plax or any other reciever was getting the ball the first half, mainly because of the Eagles putting the pressure on Manning. Plax was complaining on the sidelines like he was open but wasn't getting the ball.

AJ's head was too big to fit in a regular size headshot. And the right-facing Eagle is a symbol meaning that he is a Freemason.
I thought it meant he was Jewish.
I thought it meant that you're all idiots.
A couple things after I finally watched the game again that weren't mentioned enough or need to be mentioned again...
--On plays in the 4th/OT when Johnson only rushed 4 or 5, the Giants had to settle for underneath stuff. Almost without exception, the big plays were on 6 or 7 man blitzes.
--The Eagles' OL looked lazy as hell by the end of the game. They'd block one guy for 1/2 a second and then just stand up and dog it... on running plays. Also there were opportunities if Westbrook hit the hole more quickly, but he was dancing around and juking too much.
--Donovan made more mistakes than we think. Sure, there were some drops, but he played poorly and made some bad throws, especially late in the game.
Whatever. I hope they learned something, and I hope the Kearse injury doesn't prove as highly costly as I think it will be.
kearse has been invisible since he got here...not saying they wont miss him to a certain extent but his loss will have no bearing whatsoever on making or missing the playoffs
what the hell are you doing watching that game again...seriously how do you bring yourself...i cant/wont watch a minute of any football until kickoff 4pm sunday

He made some terrible throws. And the illegal motion penalty was inexcusable. I makes you wonder if you can play like that and still pass for multiple TD's and over 300 yards, what would the game have been like if he had played better.
I disagree about McNabb overall. I counted 8 drops in the game. If there were no drops McNabb would have had a 77% completion percentage, 3 TD's and 0 INT's. That is a great game any way you cut it.

I'm not talking about making or missing the playoffs, but I am talking about the edge in talent and playmaking that's the difference between winning a Super Bowl and eaking into the playoffs as a wild card team.
As for the game, it was actually easier to watch knowing the outcome and getting it over with so quickly. On Sunday it was much worse, because I had the feeling in the pit of my stomach the whole game as they were failing to put the game away that the Giants would get back in it, and it was like slow torture.
Also, I'm more confident about the team possibly doing some good things this year after re-watching. Even against the max protect, the front four was getting pressure and the patchwork secondary did acceptably OK... it was the all-out blitzing that created almost every big play in the 2nd half for the Giants.

He definitely did have an excellent game overall, but he didn't save his best throws for crunch time, and I think that his stupid "playing with the defense" penalty is more forgivable than some of the missed throws.
There were others, but one that sticks with me is the end of the 1st half - he hit Stallworth twice in a row on the sideline... then he was open again for another 15+ gainer, but McNabb's pass was way off. If he hits that, maybe they come away with 7 and not only 3. Also on the 4th and 1 play on the drive before that, he threw the ball out of bounds... which made no sense at all.
However, the three things I find most to blame for the loss are the Westbrook fumble, the play of the offensive line late in the game, and the playcalling on both sides of the ball... I'm just saying that McNabb made more mistakes than I remember.

Kearse looked to me to be playing like he had something to prove this year, which, imo, he did. He might not have had the best of seasons up until this one, but three sacks in two games will be missed

Eight Drops!! Good God, that's baaad. Passing for three TD's is a good game, and the loss wasn't his fault at all, but he did throw some baaad passes. Man, if even half of those passes that were dropped had been caught, it could have made a big difference.

I donno about invisible, but I think we'll be absolutely fine without Kearse. Still a big loss though. Where we'll miss him most is on run defense. I think Cole is more than capable of replacing the pass rush.

Yeah, I rewatched it the other day as well and I agree with the Stallworth throw. Stallworth was WIDE open and McNabb underthrew him terribly. He also made another bad throw to Stallworth where he overthrew him badly on the sideline when he was open. He definitely made some bad throws, but none that I can trace directly to costing them.
On the 4th and 1 play though, if you still have it... watch it again. I explained it to that moron in the other thread. It was a designed rollout to Westbrook to pick up short yardage. He was the only receiver on a route in the area. Westbrook was dragging towards the sideline and he was knocked down by a defender. At that point, McNabb is a good 4-5 yards behind the line on a rollout with the defenders bearing down on him. He really didn't have anywhere to go with the ball.
IMO... it was a dumbass play call cuz I think it's just idiotic to call a pass play on 4th and 1 in any instance, but I can't fault McNabb for that play.
Then he should have tossed it up in bounds in the middle of the field to see if any Giants players were stupid enough to grab the INT instead of knocking it down.
Anyway, it wasn't a HUGE mistake like some people have said, but it was not a great play all around.

And he' supposed to think of that while scrambling with defenders getting ready to sack him? It's easy to sit back and say he should have thrown it up now.
And he' supposed to think of that while scrambling with defenders getting ready to sack him?
um yeah...he is....great qb's do those kinds of things
mcnabb is usually awesome while scrambling and completing his passes. jesus the guy cant get a break.
if reggie brown catches that TD today on the perfect pass McNabb would have put really amazing stats once again...over 300 yds and 3TDs.
instead he had 294 and 2 TD's. cut him

Who said that? Your homericity is getting ridiculous. The only certainty is that the Eagles (especially the current injury-depleted secondary) are not CERTAINLY better than any team in the division. They'd Rather Not Be in Philadelphia
By VINCENT M. MALLOZZI
The Giants ventured into hostile territory in Philadelphia two weeks ago, and so did their fans.
Lou Scalise Jr., wearing a Jeremy Shockey jersey, and his father, in a Tiki Barber jersey, were among the Giant faithful at Lincoln Financial Field on Sept. 17. Lou Jr. said they were "taunted, cursed and even spit at during the game by Eagles fans."
Michael Martocci, the vice president of Big Blue Travel in Manhattan, which arranged a bus trip for 72 Giants fans, including the Scalises, said: "Every year, the abuse we take from those animals in Philadelphia gets worse and worse. I'm seriously considering having two armed guards sit with us next year."
The abuse only escalated as the group filed out after the Giants rallied for an overtime victory against the Eagles, the Giants fans said. Scalise, 21, of Copiague, N.Y., said he was pushed from behind several times on a stadium ramp. When Scalise turned around, he said, a man about 6 feet tall and 230 pounds, wearing an Eagles T-shirt and cap, punched him in the nose.
"We were holding the guy and calling for security," said Robert Anderson, a retired New York City police detective who was part of the group. "But other Eagles fan came down the ramp and started swinging at us. When we went to protect ourselves, the guy who threw the first punch got away."
Although he did not see the first punch, Lou Scalise Sr. said he turned "to see my son's face filled with blood."
The younger Scalise, who is 5-9 and 175 pounds, said: "Those people in Philadelphia are the most classless fans in the world. They're just a bunch of drunks looking for trouble. I'll never go back there again."
In a separate incident that day, according to The Daily News, David Lee and Christian Perez, a reporter and a cameraman for SNY, the Mets' network, were cursed and had bagels thrown at them when they arrived at the stadium in a SNY truck. After the game, they returned to the parking lot to find part of the network's logo scraped off the truck, a side mirror ripped off, the rear windshield wiper bent and a tire slashed. The vehicle reeked of beer and urine.
"The stuff that goes on in Philadelphia makes the Meadowlands look like 'Romper Room,' " Lou Scalise Sr. said.
Bonnie Grant, the communications director for the Eagles, confirmed that the younger Scalise had filed a medical report, but said no security report was filed.
"There is no security report, so we have an absence of information to even verify what he is saying," Grant said. "In addition, no one from that travel group has contacted us."
Lou Scalise Sr. said that after he and his son completed the medical report, they were told by security officers that the team would contact them.
"We're still waiting for that phone call," he said.
Martocci recalled that Philadelphia once expedited disorderly conduct cases during football games at a makeshift municipal court in the basement of Veterans Stadium, which Lincoln Financial Field replaced.
"They needed that courtroom because they can't manage or govern their own people," Martocci said.
Michael Irvin, who won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990's, listed Philadelphia, Oakland and New Orleans as the rowdiest stadiums he ever played in.
"Philly was just a horrible place to play," Irvin said. "They're still cursing me out whenever they see me, and I retired more than six years ago."
Irvin also said, "Raider fans like to paint their faces and pretend to be crazy; Eagles fans really are crazy."
Martocci, who has accompanied fellow Giants fans around the country since 1990, said that no stadium came close to Philadelphia's.
"It's sad," he said, "because it takes the whole enjoyment out of going to a game."

That's why people aren't scared of going there and they'll never have the same kind of homefield advantage that the Eagles enjoy. If visiting fans are scared and stay away because of it, I'm happy.
Honestly, I'm a bit scared whenever I go to the Meadowlands. The biggest cop I've ever seen in my life kept a gang of Blue thugs off me one time, and I've never been more grateful for cops before. That said, I ain't gonna stop going.
The way I see it, if you're in the opposing team's house and you're jumping up and down screaming and making an ass of yourself, you're inviting trouble. These days I keep my joy subdued...when something good for the Eagles happen, I'm chill. Usually by the end of the game the stands are empyting of Giants fans anyway, leaving the other 15,000 of us to cheer all we want.
Because you all care about the way I see it.
My last trip to the Meadowlands was in the mid-90s. I was wearing an authentic Keith Byars jersey. I was spit on by a woMAN with more chin hair than MURP, has a piece of a hot dog with mustard on it thrown at me and both times I went to get a drink or food, I got "accidentally" ::) shoved from behind....each time I ended up on the ground (once spilling my food...I had to buy more)
Giant fans can rot in hell.
Whats moronic about the article is that they think it only happens in Philly. As Dio and PG have pointed out (and I could throw a couple of my own stories in there too) it happens in NY too.

mission accomplished
ha. while reading that I was prepared to type the exact same thing. well done, SunMo.
This is the honest to God truth I was gonna use the same quote, bold the same part, and write 'mission accomplished' too. Weird.
Well, since you invoke the name of a fake omniscient being, I guess you really mean it!!
i think it's no suprise to find out that we'll all degenerate scumbags
please make this thread go away. it still disgusts me.

I wish I didn't have to jump on this jerk-fest but I three was about to write the exact same thing. Clearly I'm not as original or witty as I think I am.
so basically, you're all as funny as me, congratulations
SunMo wants to buy out our $20 bet (he bet the Eagles would have a better record at the end of the season; I bet the Giants would have the better record) for $15.
I'm going to let him do it because I'm a nice guy, but that $20 would be as good as mine at season's end.
When I first saw that bet, I was 2 seconds from throwing $20 in myself against you. I'm happy that for once, I kept my big mouth shut.
BTW, this loss doesn't hurt so much anymore. 3 in a row leading into the bye is much worse.

I don't hurt as much as last week. More of a numb feeling. :-\
Agreed. I actually feel better. Last week, I was concerned the season was toast. Now, I'm certain.
It's a calming feeling, really.
Last week I was angry.
Today I feel detached. I could actually watch and enjoy the late games and even watch the NBC pre-game show. Normally when they lose I'm so pissed I can't stand to watch any highlight shows

Ditto to this.
Frankly, I'm just looking forward to watching the Cowboys get murdered in ugly fashion.
Eagles playing like rotten ass...
Flyers sucking...
Sixers are gonna suck...
Phillies aren't playing and even when they do they suck...
I love being a Philly fan. LOVE IT.

Exactly what I was telling Mrs. Feva.
At first I was angry, but then I thought, "They don't seem to care, why the hell should I?"
Now, I've just accepted the fact that this team isn't sniffing the playoffs this year so I've moved past it. I'm pretty much already over this loss. They're a lot easier to take once you remove the expectations.

Frankly, I'm just looking forward to getting some sleep tonight.
Right.
I agree wih the above posts. I'm not even hurt by this loss. Just pure anger. I'm not sitting around worried after this one. Just sort of like oh well, this team stinks.
