Title: taterskins Week - Predictions
Post by: Jake on December 25, 2005, 12:54:54 PM
So, it's taterskins week for you all and I want to know your honest predictions.

I think the taterskins will win this game.

Unfortunately these are the types of games that we tend to lose. Facing an underdog with momentum on our side, etc.

I'm comfortable heading into this game because I feel we have the advantage. I also feel comfortable in knowing that the taterskins players and coaches never take any opponent for granted and never overlook the talent each team has.

I think the score will be 31-20 taterskins.

What do you all think will happen on New Years Day?

Happy Holidays to everyone.

20-17 area. This is the only game I gave a shtein about after the Seattle one. Eagles will win and will cry tears of happy knowing the Skins are sitting home. But theyll probably make it anyway because the NFC sucks.

The taterskins should win easily, and if they do they will make the playoffs, if they won't, then they don't. Therefore, obviously, they will lose.

If the Eagles losing keeps the Giants and Cowgirls out of the playoffs,  I say Landetta should sub for Trotter and Akers for Dawkins.

I predict that I will have a ridiculously great time, potentially freezing my arse off at the game...and of course, drinking too much Rumple with Beermonkey and the Welcoming Committee.

Do we have to talk about the game...seriously?  :-\

Because I am an Eagles fan, and stupidly optimistic (hopeful)...

21-17 Birds.

I have visions of Dawkins breaking Cooley in half.  :boom

I want nothing more than to see the Birds kill the Skins playoff hopes this week. But after watching that garbage QB we have it is going to have to be a miracle. I want to see Art and the rest of the ES'ers cry.

Heart:

Eagles - 19 (one TD + 4 FGs)
taterskins - 17

Head:

Eagles - 13
taterskins - 24

Hopefully Ramsey's QB play will be erratic and our defense has one good game in them.

Iggs 3
Skin 28

I say three because I hope that Sheldon can pull out a late interception deep in Skins territory. Scramblin' Mike will lose 8 yards on the drive, but Akers will still be able to do something.

Also, I give no credit to the Skins offense for the 28 points. Our defense simply blows.

Go Eagles!

Merry Christmas from all Cowboy fans as we will be wearing our collective Green at 4:15 on Sunday.

Washington isnt anything special and is due for a loss.  Beating the Giants at home proves nothing.  They are the worst road team maybe ever.  Eagles will win one for America.

20-14 Philly.

That still only accounts for 49 of our points.

There certainly isn't anyone else on our offense that could account for the remaining 25 points.   :-D

you figure out the rest.

oh...and the eagles have no chance to beat any team with a winning record.

I'm with you, this week...I think the Eagles lose 17-3, and I hope the Eagles lose so the crappy Cowshteins miss the playoffs. After the Christmas Eve gift the refs gave them on that horrible Carolina roughing the kicker penalty, they should already be dead for 2005.

I'll show up at 10:00 & say I don't plan on drinking much. By 11:00 I'll be making comments like "Hey, you ears remind me of a time I was in Florida" & people will just nod & smile when I speak the rest of the day. I will also have no expectations of a win, thereby allowing me to laugh as McMahon throws his 2nd pick for a TD.

My goal for the game is to get a picture of Art picking his nose/ass/ears on the sideline or giving Gibbs the "thumbs up" sign.

In the end, I expect to have a fairly good time & go home with minimal anger after witnessing:

My "i know it ain't gonna happen this week" prediction:

taterskins 2
eagles 0

Patrick Ramsey throws an interception that is returned all the way to the taterskins 2 yard line. On the next snap, Mike McMahon looks at our defense, and suddenly gets wet panties. When he snaps the ball, he's looking, and all he sees is taterskins coming for him. He gets really scared and starts running the wrong way towards his own endzone. The taterskins players decide to stop and laugh at him. McMahon runs all the way into his own redzone, where the skins start coming for him. Then he decides he doesn't want to get hit, so he simply kicks the ball out of the back of his own redzone, giving the taterskins 2 points.

That's so farging ridiculous, it's not even funny.  First, you know damn well that our defense actually forcing a turnover is more laughable than anything else.  Second, McMahon while running (and dripping) the wrong way and just before hitting the end zone would surely "try to make something happen" and decide to heave the ball up and let McMullen make a play, resulting in an INT to Springs who runs in the remaining 7 yards for a TD.

Why are people asking these very hard questions... Í do not want to lose to the Skins, yet I do not want to help the Cowpokes and Gints get in either....

Best result should be a tie... Eagles go down 0-7 early, then by the end of the game the Skins are laughing so hard at iur pathetic offense that they'll fumble and Dhani Jones will be able to return it for  TD. Final score: 7-7. It can't be as pathetic as the, IIRC 3-3 tie with the Ravens.

Eh, when it comes right down to it, I'd rather see the Skins in than the Cowboys.  The Cowboys should never have anything good happen to them, and the Skins fans will get so frothed up about finally being back, it'll be that much sweeter when they are annihilated by the Bucs in the WC round.

I agree.  If it comes down to farging the Skins or the Cowboys, I'm farging Dallas every time.  It's not even that tough of a decision for me.

Although it probably won't be very popular around here, I have always liked and respected Joe Gibbs. He has a history of setting a goal, formulating a plan, and staying on track to that end. Reminds me alot in the organization/temperment department of Big Red. I have always hated Parcells. Thought he was over-rated. Parcells in his SB wins had the greatest defensive player whoever lived changing games for him. Riggins has always been my favorite non-Eagle. That being sais, I can't root for the Eagles to lose.

Eagles 13
Skins 9

I have forgetten to check up on my favorite NFC east losing record team in a while.  I have heard a lot of you talk about your defense sucking.  I thought the skins might lose just due to your defense picking shtein off and taking it to the endzone but some of you seem to think that is impossible.  I don't think your offense will do much but if patrick ramsey plays there will be INTs
Ramsey playing
Skins 20
Eagles 14

Brunell playing- i think he will
Skins 28
Eagles 10

10TDs in the past two games.  Skins don't normally do that.

What's going on guys?

Another diehard taterskins fan over from thehogs.net here.

It just wasn't a good year for the Eagles. I don't think I've ever seen so many good players at so many key positions get hurt in the same season. I still think Philly will be the team to beat in the NFC East next year when they get everyone back.

Anyways, this game doesn't mean that much to the Iggles but it means the WORLD to the taterskins and their fans. It's been 6 years. 6 long, long, long years. 6 years where we've had to watch Philly go to the playoffs almost every season, the Giants go to the Super Bowl, and the Cowboys go to the playoffs 2 years ago with arguably the worst playoff team I've ever seen. And last week, just when it looked like we were finally going to clinch a playoff berth, the Cowboys (the COWBOYS!!!) get a ridiculous call and win the game. How typical.

I'm getting pissed just typing this.

I know you guys have to root for Philly, they are your team, it is your duty, but do you really want to see Dallas make the playoffs? Do you really want to see Keyshawn, and Bledsoe, and Roy Williams (the most overrated player in the NFL) and worst of all, BILL PARCELLS, make the playoffs??? Do you really want to hear how great a coach Bill Parcells is for another week? Even though the Cowboys have gotten more gifts at the end of games this season than any team in recent memory, including that brutal MNF game in Philly, that the Eagles obviously should have won.

If the roles were reversed, I'd root for the taterskins to beat Philly, but deep down I'd definitely want to see the Eagles go to the postseason over the Cowboys. And it's not even close.

I say the taterskins win this game, 24-13. We have earned it. It's a long time coming.

Next year we will do battle for the NFC East crown, but this year...could you just give us a break?  :)

Okay, here's what I think.

I'm scared of the Eagles.  You never know what a team that has nothing to play for will do on the field.  4th & 12 on their own 30 yard line?  Why not go for it!  Who knows.

This Skins *SHOULD* beat the snot out of the Eagles.  The score *SHOULD* be somewhere around 42-10, but that won't happen.

Part of me is really worried that the Skins will be satisfied beating two good teams in a row (Cowboys and Giants) and over-looking the Eagles.  Another part of me realizes how great a coach Joe Gibbs is and he surely wouldn't let his team overlook the Eagles.

So, considering that....my final prediction is:

Skins:  31
Eagles: 13

You give your team far too much credit and you underestimate our defense just a tad.  Okay...you are no Seattle Seahawks team.  They are capable of putting up 42 points.  Your team is about capable of putting up 28 against the Eagles.  I think you walk a little too tall and your hopes and dreams will be shattered within the next 10 days pal.  Have fun crying in your beer as your team comes to sit at home with us throughout most of January.

I'll be home alone (wife and son staying with the in-laws) to watch the game in peace.  Of course, I'll be looking for another game to watch around halftime.

Skins- 27
Eaglets- 10

Do you really want to hear how great a coach Bill Parcells is for another week? Need a Ticket? Eagles Fans (Lots) Have a Deal for You

By Joe Holley
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, December 30, 2005; B01

It must have been a game-day Sunday like the one coming up that inspired Philly native William Claude Dukenfield to remark: "I once spent a year in Philadelphia. I think it was on a Sunday."

Like Dukenfield, the 1930s-era comedian better known as W.C. Fields, Philadelphians apparently are having a bad case of ennui. They're just not as enthusiastic about seeing the taterskins-Eagles game now that their team doesn't have a shot at the playoffs, so it looks as if they're dumping tickets.

And with taterskins fever building with their four-game winning streak, Washington fans are snatching up the castoffs.

While the taterskins will earn a playoff berth with a win, the Eagles are going nowhere, and neither are their fans, according to several independent ticket brokerage Web sites. Many have given up on a team that tumbled from Super Bowl euphoria a year ago to a tumultuous and disappointing 6-9 season going into Sunday's 4:15 p.m. game.

"Skins fans are clamoring to see Sunday's game in Philadelphia," said Sean Pate, a spokesman for StubHub, a Web site where users buy and sell tickets. Eagles fans "are making their tickets available in large numbers on StubHub.com."

In fact, he added, StubHub is selling more tickets for Sunday's taterskins game than for any other Eagles game this season.

The marketplace determines the prices, which toward the end of the week were ranging from $58 for a second-level seat to $450 on the 35-yard line. The most expensive ticket sold on StubHub through Wednesday went for $600 for a prime 50-yard-line seat.

"We are selling a lot of Eagles tickets," said Robert Stein, director of search marketing for Ticket Network Direct.

"taterskins fans are buying them," said Kenneth Dotson, chief marketing officer for TicketsNow

.com, which buys and sells tickets. "There's not a tremendous amount left."

Jason Randall, chief executive of Coast to Coast Tickets, said: "The prices that brokers are asking don't show a dramatic drop-off. Hope springs eternal, I guess."

Randall suspected that Eagles fans were getting rid of tickets, though he couldn't quantify it.

"So what would you expect?" said Lou DeMaise, manager of Chicky and Pete's, a sports bar in South Philly near the stadium. "It's just been an awful year for us here in Philadelphia. Fans that come in here gave up hope three or four weeks ago. They're talking about next year, what's going to happen with McNabb," referring to whether Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will return to the team.

In Washington, the year's far from over. A taterskins official, who asked not to be named, said that Coach Joe Gibbs, like many NFL coaches, was superstitious and didn't want the team to announce the sale of playoff tickets before the team had qualified.

The official said there was concern among the coaching staff that announcing a sale would motivate the New York Giants, who must lose to the Oakland Raiders on Saturday night for the taterskins to get to play at home during the first round of the playoffs.

"The rumor is that the taterskins aren't sending out tickets until next week, which could mean most people won't have tickets in their hand until Wednesday or Thursday," said Jeff Greenberg of ascticket.com, a Washington area ticket brokerage. "If the game is Saturday, there's not much we can do. They could have a disaster on their hands if they have 90,000 people lined up at the will-call window on game day."

No such problem in Philly, though it's not as if a latter-day Dukenfield doesn't have Sunday choices. In addition to New Year's Day brunches and parties, or the crab claws at Chicky and Pete's, there's the traditional Mummers parade, with floats and bands and marchers making their way up Broad Street from about 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Anthony Cortese, general manager of Melrose Diner, a Philadelphia landmark near the stadium, and a self-described die-hard fan, conceded that many of his fellow Eagles fans will be at the parade -- or somewhere else other than the game. But Cortese, a season ticket holder, will be in the stands Sunday. "Sure, it's been a bad year," he said, "but come September, we're all 0-0 again."

Andy Reid predicts a taterskins victory.

QuoteEagles coach Andy Reid apparently doesn't see his team standing in the taterskins' way, saying, "You guys are going to be in the playoffs, fired up and ready to go. You won't have to worry about me."

If you can guarantee that the Cowboys team plane crashes and they all die on the way to the playoffs game, I'll root for the Eagles.

Wouldn't it be so hilarious if the taterskins lost to Philly, but then the Rams somehow beat the Cowboys. HAHA. Oh man. A kid can dream right?

I know you guys have to root for the Eagles, but I refuse to believe that any of you would actually rather knock the taterskins out of the playoffs than the Cowboys. You can say it all you want, I just won't believe it.

And for the guy who said the taterskins are a pathetic franchise: I just wanted a personal message to you, I hope you guys have a fun time preparing your draft board while we are in the playoffs next week.

Seriously if we lose to this team we don't deserve to be in the playoffs and if we do get in by a plane crash or a dallas loss it only means that we will lose one week later.  yeah it would be funny to see the cowboys blow it but it would also be fun to watch the dallas game and hope they blow it just due to my hate for them.

What would be perfect is a taterskins win and giants loss.  That is what you really want isn't it?

Art with a bit of realism, then some homerism:

QuoteThe taterskins lacked the intensity early you'd have hoped they would have come with. However, they did bring it in the second half, playing with passion and a big physical nature. The impact of the injuries on the Eagles is they have players who simply can't hold the ball. We lose that game if the Eagles have their players. Of course, if they do, the game will have meant more in the first place.

We are in the playoffs.

And we're going to be dangerous.

more douchery:
QuoteWhat an incredible game. That defense is just amazing. I know special teams isn't neccessarily included but defensively we forced 6 turnovers in that game and i believe thats 15 or 16 in the last 4 games.

uhhhh......the game blew. both teams eat ass. and the special teams did a great job forcing dexter wynn to drop a simple punt. yup, hail to the taterskins. they are incredible.

Plus someone named Blade is keeping a blog for the trip....he said nothing remotley entertaining or interesting. He did throw in some references to smog in Philly (what?) and was surprised that an Eagles fan knew that he just talked to THE Sonny Jurgenson. What a dork.

They let Mike McMahon and Koy Detmer put up 20 points against them in what was a meaningless game to the Eagles...yeah, "amazing" defense.

If the Bucs weren't also pretty lame, I'd predict one-and-done for the 'skins in the playoffs. As it is, the entire NFC is pretty lame...whomever comes out of the NFC is going to get pounded in the Super Bowl.

That whole thing stems from a Reid quote where he said that he feels comfortable with Reggie at #1 next year.  If Brown did say that, then that'd be in response to a reporter mentioning Reid's quote... which is what Reggie is supposed to say.

I think (hope) AR is just giving bland, generic answers when it comes to WR questions because he's not going to "show his hand" for the offseason.  That'd be a huge mistake if he didn't pursue any other options at WR.

The Eagles took the great and powerful New York Giants to overtime at home. In fact, the Eagles probably win that game if that Akers FG doesn't take that inexplicable bounce off the crossbar and out. Does that mean that the Giants suck worse than we do?

I don't think you guys give yourselves enough credit. If McNabb doesn't give Roy Williams the biggest gift of the 2005 NFL season, the Eagles win that game over the Cowboys. I know it's a big difference with McNabb in there, but the fact of the matter is that of the 3 NFC East teams, Washington had the best showing in Philadelphia.

As for the Bucs game. The first time we played them, they beat us 36-35 on a 2 point conversion play that to this day I still haven't seen a replay showing Alstott crossing the goal line. So I have no idea why they would blow us out this weekend. I think both teams have a great chance of winning. Also worth noting that Sean Taylor was hurt and didn't play in that game against the Bucs, and whether you like him or not you have to admit that he is playing at extraordinarily high level lately. His presence in the secondary makes a huge difference.

You guys are just bitter.

And Jason Campbell, well you may be right. He may not end up being all that good. Hmmm...when was the last time that Eagles fans were really down on a first round draft choice of a mobile QB....let me see here......I seem to remember the 1999 draft, they had the 2nd overall pick....and they took Donovan McNabb and they booed lustily at what a terrible pick it was.....Good call.... Well you guys were so dead on about McNabb that you must be right about Campbell.....I'll remember that if Bill Walsh isn't available, Eagles fans are the next best source for information on a QB coming out of college....your track record is impeccable.  And your team has done an outstanding job in the first round recently....I mean Freddie Mitchell, Jerome McDougle, Shawn Andrews, it's a who's who of young Pro Bowl players.

HAHA.

Bitter, bitter, bitter.

You guys made the playoffs 5 years in a row. Think about that. 5 freaking years in a row we had to watch you guys in the playoffs while we were at home. Now I get my chance to go to a taterskins playoff game and I am going to enjoy the hell out of it. Just deal with it.

Are you seriously trash talking about the DRAFT? This is coming from the fan of a team that has had like 10 picks in the last 3 drafts combined. If you are seriously going to try to back up Campbell, you need to look at yourself. He's a 1st rounder. He has barely even been activated. Shoulderpad Shawn and his moronic friends at the draft booed because they wanted Ricky. BTW, Shawn Andrews is a Pro-Bowl alternate. ;)

Yaaaawn.  A whole bunch of nothin'.

I'm not bitter at all.  Like you just pointed out, this is the 1st time in 5 years that I've had to look at the playoffs from this side.  Although I'd like the Eagles to be there... the season was essentially over a long time ago and that's been accepted by now.  You're a little late for the bitter talk.  Anyway, with all this talk of "an improved NFC East", the Eagles lost this division more than anybody else winning it... and you didn't even do that.  What's better is that everyone knows this team has the ammo to put themselves right back up there at the top of the NFC in 2006.  Even in our depleted state this year... the only game we were ever out of was the 1st Dallas game.  So if we were competitive in every other game then, what will it be like when we get 9 offensive starters back?  Like I said... tick, tock.

You go ahead and enjoy your week in the playoffs though.  Everything's going right back to normal next season.

Did you SERIOUSLY try to compare Jason Campbell to Donovan McNabb?  The Skins traded away more draft picks and REACHED for a guy at a position that you didn't even need!  :-D  Campbell wasn't even rated as a 1st round talent.

The Eagles on the other hand, had the worst record in the league, kept all their picks and drafted a guy in McNabb who was projected to be a franchise QB.  Also, you can try to lump me in with those morons at the draft if you want... I never booed McNabb.  I guess I can go ahead and assume you wear a dress and a pig snout to every sunday though, huh?

Again... you show that as a Skins fan, you don't know a damn thing about the draft because if you think Shawn Andrews is anything close to a bust, then even now, I'm giving you too much credit.  You're nearly right when you talk about "who's who of probowlers because he's currently a pro-bowl alternate, einstein.  Hell, even McDougle still has a chance to show SOMETHING.  Bottom line is they play on sundays.  It's simply assinine to spend a 1st round pick on a 3rd stringer like you did with Campbell.  But, there you go... when you only HAVE a 1st round pick every couple years, how can anyone expect you to know how to use it.  :-D

So Campbell is a bust because he didn't play this season? So that makes Aaron Rodgers a bust too? And Carson Palmer he was a bust 2 years ago right? Why would  a playoff team throw a rookie QB into the mix when they have a veteran playing well enough to win games? Obviously they wouldnt.

It's funny to me that you consider the moves of my team's front office (which I obviously have no control over) to somehow be a reflection of my personal football IQ.

I threw Andrews in there because he was the only other recent first rounder I could come up with of the top of my head after Mitchell and McDougle, besides Patterson of course who I like.

Go ahead and make fun of the Skins draft picks if you want, but it was our 1st round pick last year that came up with a HUGE game on Sunday and propelled us into the playoffs.

Anyways, why are we talking about the draft? It's playoff time baby!! It's time to get pumped! It's time to get excited! It's do or die time! It's time to make that Super Bowl run! It's time to......oh....wait....my bad.....sorry about that........

What a farging idiot you are.  Wasn't rated first round by the people you talk to at the laundromat maybe.
Most people who know anything about football had him rated exactly where he went in the first round, and some had him rated the best QB overall.
Gibbs hasn't had many picks to deal with, but Sean Taylor, Carlos Rogers, and trading up for Cooley were all correct.
He saw something in Brunell no one else saw, and traded Coles for the "undersized fragile" Moss.
So your opinion of his ability to judge talent doesn't mean squat.

As for Reid and his eval of talent, McCoy will give proof of his inability to pick a linebacker.
McDougal at 15 sucks ass without being shot, and Freddy Mitchell was a great 25th pick.   :boo

Campbell is an unknown. Brunell is lousy and old. When Campbell starts, hello basement again.

The only shot you dopes have of getting a #1 pick is to trade Ramsey and hope to get a #1 for him.

And I hope Gregggggggggggg Williams goes to Kansas City or somewhere else.

I can't see anyone giving up a first round pick for Ramsey, not without a third round pick or another player involved.

Don't confuse what you want to happen with what will happen.
Campbell is more of an unknown than McCoy.  That would be like predicting McNabb won't heal up right.  No one really knows.
And Brunell might be old, but you have to admit he had a good season.  McMahon is lousy and young.  Brunell is old, but he's getting the job done.  5 straight wins to end the season and get into the playoffs is proof enough.  He looked like crap against Philly but he didn't lose the game.  His accurracy was off d/t the knee.  A win's a win.

welcome back to the playoffs.  since our team went gimpy this year, we'll let the 3 other pathetic teams in the division battle it out.  next year we will be healthy.  and your team can go back to sucking.  good luck against the bears and seahawks!   :-D :-D :-D :flipoff
Chicago and Seattle have a combined record of 22-2 in the conference.  That might scare taterskin fans until they see that the only conference losses of either team came from the skins :-D

im laughing because how pathetic the NFC is this year without us...and the bears and seahwaks being the 1 and 2 teams.  I'm laughing even harder because the skins and giants are not going anywhere.  Take a sip, because thats all your going to get.  Wait til next year...get used to not making the playoffs again for a few years.

Come on man... the Eagles blew away the NFC in every game they tried to win last year, including the playoffs.  Dallas was the only team that even came within 10 points of them last year... and half of that game was without ya' boy.

Seattle for most of the year wasn't even the clear-cut best team in the NFC... having close calls against SF, ATL, DAL, NYG, and TEN.  Hell, to tell you the truth... Dallas and the Giants both had them beaten.

We unquestionably dominated the NFC last year leaving no doubt whatsoever about who the best team in the conference was.  Seattle this year, is a good team no doubt, but they took most of the year to establish that they were the NFC's best... and even now, arguments can be made for other teams in the NFC.

the eagles didnt play anyone last year...they played exactly three playoff teams...a bad viking team a worse green bay team and the steelers who thrashed them..granted the seahawks didnt do much better this year but 13-3 is 13-3

i probably should wait and see what seattle does in the playoffs...but if they make the superbowl they are definitely as good...as of now i put them on a level field...subject to change that opinion on the result of the playoffs

Let's not forget the 6 gimmes against the rest of the division the Seahawks get.  This year's Eagles would be in 2nd place over there.  I don't think the Seahawks have it any tougher.  Yeah, the East is so called "improved" and they lost to Washington and like I said earlier should have lost to Dallas and New York.  We're the only ones they looked dominant against.

Last year's Eagles would have been head and shoulders over this division... I'd say 4-2 at absolute worst.

In the end, I think Seattle will end up in the SB... because they're a pretty strong home team.  If they had to go to either New York or Chicago, I'd doubt it a lot more.

I think the score will be 31-20 taterskins.
BTW, nice prediction Jake

Thank you. I think it's my frist correct prediction of the year. :)

Late in the game, I was saying out loud "All the Skins need to do is score 14 and hold Philly to 20 and I'll be right!"

Couldn't have been happier. I almost pissed myself when Taylor ran that fumble in for a TD.

I didn't see any violence at the game.  I sat in the lower level (not club.  I sat with friends)  No one gave me a problem.  There was one Skins fan I saw in another section who was walking around covered in silly string, and I talked to someone who saw the hat get thrown.  If the soy sauce thing happened that guy is a farging coward.
It seems the Mrs Portis thing did happen.  That's pretty weak, throwing beer on an older woman.  It's farging cowardly.  After the game there was a chant of Mrs.Portis clap clap clapclapclap.  :-D

If the Eagles really wanted to change the image, they could do it.  You could threaten to take away season tickets.
As it is, people like it, so it stays.  If you take your kid there, he's going to hear a lot of language and maybe see some fighting.  Personally, I think it sucks, but it's never stopped me from going to a game, just from taking kids to the game.
My wife and I went up to Pat's to get a steak after the game.  The guy behind the glass (the one with no teeth that's been there for a while) was telling another taterskins fan to go back to Jack funhole Cooke Satdium.  It was said in good fun, but kids are around.  People don't seem to care.  Whatever.  The stereotype will continue until people want it to be changed.

Meh.  I've been to games several times in Philly at the Vet and Linc, as well as GB, FedEx.  I've found if you're willing to take a ribbing and not get heated most of the time it stays good natured.  That being said, mixing late game with disappointing season with division rival could easily get out of hand.

supposedly the guy involved with Portis' mom is on with WIP now.  per him, he was doing Eagles cheers and stuff in the section.  Portis' family got into his face.  then, this guy tried to go down the steps and they stopped him, knocked his hat off, and flip the beer out of his hand.  he claims that was the beer that hit her, nobody threw one.  he didn't know anything about punching a lady in the nose.  he also said that he has witnesses writing letters to the Eagles, Fox news, and other papers who he claims are reporting it incorrectly.

I just heard that too, guy sounded pretty honest but I'd like to hear the story validated from a witness or two.

yeah, i agree.  the fact that he has witnesses writing letters on his behalf makes me think that there is some truth to his story.

Except no charges were ever filed, and the guy has never exhibited this type of behavior anywhere.
Money grubbing.  There was never any followup on this "attack"

The guy wrote a pretty convincing account on the EMB about this.

Honestly, I sit in row three of the end zone and some of the quote unquote VIP's they have sitting down there from other teams are farging self-important iceholes.
