Yes. Also it's no coincidence that it was leaked when Smith was up for his reelection vote. Early last week reports said that Smith was in doubt to be brought back. And voila the email about him leaks and he's re-elected.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Doug hired there. Mayock like him.

I know how they were found and the guy that wasn't being investigated is gonna suffer the worst consequences. He should just say it's locker room talk and call it a day. In this case it's legit.

He cost himself $60m left of his deal plus any broadcasting money he could've made.

But yeah I want to know who and what else they found in this email dive. 650k emails and they focus on these?

I hope there are reporters really digging on what the hell is going on here....Snyder escapes scrutiny, even to the point of the league instructing the investigating team NOT to produce a written report, but Jon Gruden gets reams of paper dropped to the press in an obvious hit job....NFL is dirty as farg.

It does seem fishy as hell. Considering how many NFL people say dumb things right out in the open, I get the sense that a large percentage of the league (coaches, players, everyone) would have to resign if the NFL got a hold of their private correspondence from ten years ago and held them to the same standard.

Does seem possible however that whoever was reviewing the emails for the NFL was enraged by the content and no one at the NFL wanted to attempt to keep the investigation focused out of fear of looking bad themselves.

Could be as simple as he called Goodell a flag and an anti- football Hoyda. If you were a ceo and a high level employee said that about you easiest to get back would be to leak it to the press.

What Gruden wrote in those e-mails was appalling but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to field a single coaching staff if the same criteria was applied to everyone employed in the league.

Also - this is just a small anecdote... when my wife was ill and receiving cancer treatment she was visited in the hospital by Gruden and his wife.  He was kind, caring and supportive and cheered her up immensely.  Even talked about the rats and cats at the Vet with her. 

I'm just saying, we all have issues and what he wrote was disgusting but that's not ALL the guy is.

The Bucs removed Gruden from their ring of honor. Meanwhile a guy who's committed domestic violence and has a felony conviction for assault and burglary will be catching passes from Brady at the linc Thursday. I guess words are more hurtful than fists and rocks.

3 7th grade girls in my daughters school are in trouble for personal texts using the N word. Their lives are pretty much over now I suppose. They're now being bullied.
