Yeah unfortunately a big hiccup is teachers not knowing how to use the tech. Hopefully a lot of them take the summer to familiarize their selves with it.

Luckily most all of my lessons are, with the help of screencastify for my lectures, pretty schoology (our online platform) friendly. The work I make them do is usually pen and paper, but our directive is to keep things easier so when I get back from parental leave I imagine I'll have to be making simple 10 question check in "quizzes"  for them to do at the end of the lessons for their grades.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Basically, our Zoom sessions are not required.  I ask the kids to come if possible (Each Tuesday) so I can see them and check on things, but there is no penalty for missing it.  And there is no primary instruction on the Zooms - that all comes through the assignments on Google.  The Zoom is mainly for checking for understanding and trying to be there for the kids.

I do one "open house" session on Thursday, just telling the kids to drop by if they need anything.  Had about a half dozen show up, but all they wanted to do was talk.  So we talked.

I push my assignments out for the week on Sunday at about 10pm.  Everything is officially due on Friday, but I'll basically take it as it comes.  It's all we can do at this point.

Beaches in Collier County and the City of Naples are still closed.  The Marco Island city council voted to open theirs a week ago, but the city manager used emergency powers and vetoed it.

Maybe that whole bugs bunny sawing off Florida thing wasn't such a bad idea. Good lord.

Idiot governor. Idiot people. But mahhh freedomzzzz. Oh and while we are at it farg those imbecilic nazi corksuckers in Michigan who were "protesting" and blocking streets to hospitals.

I couldn't have picked a better time to get out of there.

Utter farging insanity.

I'll be honest:  These illegal protest gatherings are scaring me.

If you're a Governor, what do you do?  The people who think they are exercising their constitutional rights to free speech are directly threatening actual constitutional rights to not die, not to mention the law (shelter in place).  They're armed.  The clown in the White House is encouraging them.

What do you do?  You can't afford for the disease to be spread further by large gatherings.  You can't afford to allow the law to be flouted.  You send people in to cite or arrest, you risk actual bloodshed.

What the farg do you do?

Fine them. Ticket then for illegal parking, and next week go tow all their trucks.

Yeah there are some gems at the Annapolis carnival too.

Don't treat anyone who went to these rallies and gets sick. If they blocked the streets, call it endangering the public by blocking emergency vehicles and seize their cars. Proceeds from auctioning them can go to ventilators.
