I was astonished at how quickly my supposedly liberal friends and acquaintances embraced Trump.   What's nice is how easily I excised them from my life.

I still read their drivel on social media and many of them have stayed aboard the S.S. Trumptanic, but thankfully a few have come to their senses.

Had 102 fever yesterday, cold sweats all day long, achy body like someone beat the shtein out of me.  Was 99% sure i had it but got the test yesterday and I'm negative for covid but positive for strep throat.  obviously happy but i have not been close to anyone other than my wife in weeks, and definitely no kids.  weird shtein. 

also i hear people waiting weeks for results but I got the rapid test done at urgent care in 20 min.

Went into Lowe's this morning.   Getting some electrical upgrades done.  My buddy is an electrician so we went to pick up some stuff.  I shtein you not at least half the iceholes in there were not masked up.  It's a requirement now.  You have to have a face covering on at all times.  People are just defying it. 

So here's the deal... if I get sick with this despite taking every precaution, I'm taking motherfargers with me.  I'm done being nice about it too.  Put your fargING MASK ON.

One of the big benchmarks for "re-opening" is to test enough that you get a positivity rate below 5%.   Our Republican Governor has been touting the fact that MD has been below that rate for a long time, and that as testing increases, it's dropping futher.  That's well and good...we're certainly doing better than the idiots in Texas and Mississippi, though one can't congratulate themselves too much for doing well by comparison to such low standards, and we're not doing nearly as well as NY, currently getting positiveity rates below 1% and testing about double the volume....but I'd like to highlight a game Larry Hogan is playing with the numbers:

The state's reported testing postivity rate of 4.03% is up slightly from Friday, when the rate was under 4% for the first time after several consecutive weeks of decline. Maryland calculates positivity rate using the number of positive tests divided by total testing volume, which include individuals receiving multiple positive or negative tests.

Johns Hopkins, which tracks positivity rates across the country with a different formula from Maryland, measured the state's rate at 5.7% Saturday. Maryland calculates positivity rate using the number of positive tests divided by total testing volume, whereas Hopkins' rate is determined using the number of people with confirmed cases divided by the number of people tested, meaning individuals receiving multiple positive or negative tests are counted only once in the calculation.

In other words, MD is well over 5%, and has been for all this time that Hogan is singing happy songs about re-opening.  Why in the hell you would count multiple negative tests for the same individual I can't imagine....other than to cook the numbers into the kind of dessert you're selling to fatty dumb dumbs.

I'm actually shocked people are masking up here. Each time we go out to the store I see everyone wearing masks.

Same thing again tonight.  Went to a seafood takeout joint (Hull's Seafood).  Everyone behind the counter is masked up.  Some fat bald Trump MAGAt walks in and he was asked to put his face covering on. He refused.  The manager walked from behind the counter and told him to get the farg out.

The guy stormed out, got in his grotesque luxury shteinbox and burned out of there. 

I threw an extra ten in the tip jar and said thanks to the girls behind the counter. 

Seriously.  This is every farging day for those folks.  And we're all losing our patience with these funholefaces.  Something is gonna happen and soon.
