Agreed, this is the by far worst I've seen it. Teams finally figured out that playing their starters is incredibly dumb. Whatever you need to see from them or get them to work on, you can do that in camp. Too much money invested in these guys' health to be messing around with exhibitions.

Even with the bubble guys, what are you really getting evaluating them against another team's trash? For the Eagles these games might be determining a total of like 2 or 3 roster spots.

How did Mailata do?

I didn't watch the game but there's enough highlights of him road grading guys that I think he makes the team even if he was a turnstile on all the other plays.

good or bad play aside what still amazes me about mailata is his age...usually when people blindly make a career change its cause they are getting older and wanna do a bucket list thing or they have accomplished everything they can in their other sport...like mailata would be 29 right now after being a nine time rugby mvp and 6 time champion and wants to try the nfl

but this farger just turned 22

if its not next year itll be the year after for the new cba. itll go down to 2 games.

the issue is money. everyone knows what these games they are but greedy billionaires just dont give up free money
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Mailata got trucked by I think Josh Allen on one play. Like off his feet and flew back. Impressive by Allen.

As for the PS...it's a farce. Even worse they require full price purchases for ST holders

Rome

I've said it before but you pay for 10 games.

They can charge you a dollar each for two scrimmages and up the prices on the other eight but they're still getting their dough one way or another.

The players would lose out from any overall revenue loss too. There's no scenario where anyone's making a change unless it is at least revenue neutral. Milking the fans and networks to the maximum extent is priority #1 for anyone even vaguely associated with the NFL.

We know the league desperately wants 18 games. As for the players, some want more games for more cash, some don't because of the increased injury risk and wear and tear. Not sure how the NFLPA is going to play it. And there's so many other issues on the table for the sides to negotiate over that it's not too predictable. Everyone thinks the current preseason situation sucks though, so you would hope that would lead to at least a reduction in these worthless games.

Rome

I don't think they're going to an 18 game schedule.  I think they'll add another playoff game before they do that, but yeah, it's all a shell game now and we're the marks.

Give him a number in the 40s and let him be the goal line back he was born to be.

I think they will end up at 18 games, which is dumb. How about fixing their rules and penalties first and make the on field product better as the schedule is now. But nah - that doesnt increase $$

General_Failure

Is fixing the rules going to increase revenue from propaganda or television deals?

The announced crowd last night was 30K.  If there was half that I'd be shocked.
