5 at $240 million would be outrageous 4 is ludicrous

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Bichette met with the Phillies Monday...I knew signing him was a long shot and didn't think he was worth $30 million per

Apparently the mets did and gave him a 3 year $126 million deal. $42 million a year

MDS

the phillies go for longer term deals to lower the aav and spread out the money...im sure they discussed like 8/10 years with bo but for 25ish per? something like that. they were never going to compete with $42 per year on a short deal.

bo took the bag of cash, as is his right. good luck in new york and good luck to them playing him out of position at 3B.

I'm genuinely curious to know how much Cancerman offered him.  $42M a year is hilarious but not as funny as $60M a year for Tucker.

Good on'em all for getting that money.

Johnny airport reporting we offered Bichette 7/$200 mill. Look forward to getting jt back now I guess

QuoteIt took some time, but J.T. Realmuto will return for an eighth season with the Phillies. He is reportedly close to a deal to re-sign with the Phillies, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. It's a three-year, $45 million deal with a chance to get as high as $60 million, per Robert Murray of FanSided.

Rome

No way the 7/200 numbers are right.  Less than $30M/yr is insulting to these guys.

MDS

it is and he was going to take it until, yea

the phillies strategy is long deals to lower the aav. they will eat the last few years, as they are with castellanos now. if the market is going to flip to short deals and high aav, then they need to augment things. after next years lockout, i guess well see how shtein shakes

AAV doesn't matter on short term desks but it matters even less to teams with more money than god.  Phillies got great money but they don't have Met money
