Manny Trillo heading for the WOF.

Also - Bryce is pretty much locked and loaded for opening day.  Let's go ahead and put him on ice till then.

MDS

i understand they wanted to do a 1980 tie in since its the 40th anniversary but trillo was a phillie for 4 years and barely good for 2 of them

this is mike lieberthal level pathetic
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PhillyPhreak54

Shoulda put Bobby Estalella in

tyler green was hurt so they used mike welch, the long man, to start. terry francona as usual sat 2 of his best players on sunday when the crowds would come -- bobby a and rico brogna arent in. welch gave up b2b2b bombs to berks, bonds and kent.

rolen just hit a bomb which gets wheels to give it a "there she goes." ruben amaro is the starting right fielder. yorkis perez relieved welch. this franchise is and will always be a complete catastrophe

eric gregg the 1B ump...rip to a real philadelphian and legendary terrible umpire

His next start featured an almost identical stat line. I was in the Astrodome when he faced Randy Johnson in Johnson's first home start as an Astro.

Phils lost 9-0 and Welch gave up 8. We sat in RCF and Kevin Sefcik played RF that night. Him, Relaford, Greggggg Jeffries, Amaro Jr and the forgettable Jon Zuber has the only hits.

Phils were around .500 at the time. I think Welch was a call up because Tyler Greene was hurt.

Don Ho

Thank God we had 1976 - 83, 93 and 2007 - 2011 because Todd is right this organization is an abomination.
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

i had to pause last night for some other activities...picking it up and the giants are now up 12-3. eric gregg kicked a call earlier in the game then literally forgot to signal on a drive down to the 1B line because he wasnt paying attention.

so bonds stole a base up 9-2. next time ricky bo nailed him in the ankle, bonds charged, tackled him, there was a pile up. and that was it. such a boring brawl.

15-3 giants win. phils were in the middle of a 6 game losing streak. joe carter was on this giants team though this youtube video didnt show his AB. kirk reuter answered bonds hbp by nailing...alex arias. he was not ejected. 1998, everyone.

next up: a 2002 mets-phils games

Rome

If anyone is contemplating suicide right now, watching the mid to late 90's Phillies should either push them over the top or convince them that nothing could be as bad as all that.

Coin flip, really.

MDS

listening to hk is worth it

terry adams starting this 2002 game. tomas perez at 2nd. burrell 2 run double, killing the mets as usual. i guess this is better than 1998.

Rolen, Schilling and Harry & Whitey were the only reasons to watch or listen to that team for about a decade.

And Spring Training at Jack Russell too.  The newer stadium isn't bad but JRS was the best.
