i dont get how the fans were so much louder this postseason than in 2005...like it wasnt even close....these last two games were absolutely incredible

Because Joe Banner was there, obviously.

The air temp in 2005 was like -5 with a wind chill of -30 wasn't it?  I remember it took about 5 minutes for my beer to freeze during that game.  The weather would be my guess.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

this team fits the philly mentality much better IMO. the underdog label. plus this run came out of nowhere.

Probably this.  During the 04 season, it was pretty much expected that they'd be there.  And after 3 previous losses, it was probably even expected to end there.

Also, the 05 playoffs were like the 5th year in a row that the Eagles had at least 1 home playoff game.  This is year was the first home playoff game in a few years and the first home NFCCG in over a decade.  Absence makes the cheers grow louder.

Munson

Yeah I was just talking with a few people with this earlier this week....in 2004 I expected it, because of where the team had been the last few years and the offseason they had. This year I'm just way more excited because of how unexpected it is.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QB Eagles

It could also represent the beginning of a new era with Wentz and *gulp* Doug.

Of course nothing is guaranteed and the rest of the NFL isn't staying still. Just the QB picture in the NFC next year figures to be dramatically different.

Munson

Somewhere out there has got to be a post from IGY declaring the Eagles had the worst starting QB in the division and, that not being enough, also adding the hyperbole that their starter may be just the 5th best in the division.

Found it.

Quote from: IGY in August during the preseasonCarson Wentz is the 7th best QB in the division and Nick Foles isn't even the 4th best QB on the Eagles.

I'm paraphrasing here.

I may have made the whole thing up.

I definitely made the whole thing up.

General_Failure

They should still bring in Kaep, though. Not because they might need a backup, but because it would really get the MAGA crowd frothing to see this lazy thug get paid to stand around kneel for the anthem and collect a ring he didn't earn.

The man. The myth. The legend.

It doesn't matter, igy doesn't care at all about this whole postseason run anyway. He said he was 100% OUT after the Wentz injury.

yeah this is all free money
if they win it awesome
if they lose i will be pissed cause i think they are going to win
but it wont be 5% as bad as any of the andy nfcc losses
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

SD

If they win it's not only the greatest single sports event and sports story for Philadelphia but one of the greatest for the NFL as well. A back up QB takes over late in the season for the likely league MVP and beats the greatest QB of all time who's leading the greatest dynasty in NFL history. It's the FNL/Texas high school overused storyline only in real life and in the NFL.

this new england team aint that good....compared to todays nfl they are of course but they arent any kind of all time great team

hostetler beat joe montana and jim kelly who both were on great teams

that is truly ridiculous

History will look back at Brady as the greatest QB/player of all time and Belicheck as the greatest coach of all time and the Patriots as the greatest dynasty of all time. I agree this isn't the greatest Patriots team during their run but that is completely irrelevant.
