If I need to win a game tomorrow and can pick any qb in the league, wentz would come in somewhere between 17-20.  There are worse places for a 2nd year qb to be in his development.  When I watch him he /looks/ like he'll become a franchise qb but Igy's right that he needs to protect the ball better and develop some form of accuracy down field.

Igy of course really exaggerates his issues by acting like he's terrible, but he still has obvious areas he needs to get better with.

SD

He's a 2nd year qb with all new receivers and a moron as a head coach. He wasn't great yesterday but he got the job done.

My biggest problem with yesterday, and to a certain extent against the Chiefs, is they let teams hang around. You can't do that against good teams. The Chiefs laid a 14 spot on them in the 4th quarter. Up until that point the game was fairly even. Same with yesterday, they let a desperate Giants hang around and it almost cost them.

MDS

they "let them hang around" but that was entirely on the offense...shouldve had 3/4 score lead

the giants scored their 3 tds off: shanked punt short field, ertz fumble short field, broken sheppard play. the giants actually had amazing field position all day and had 0 to show for it before really odb made some unreal plays.

but to be fair they lost momentum, looked dead in the water, and they got 7 and then 3 in essential do-or-die drives. thats the sign of a team that may not be that bad!
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Wentz doesn't suck by any means. But there are still a few things he sucks at. His deep ball is terribly innaccurate. He holds the ball too long.  He looked off a completely uncovered Blount 6 yards in front of him on 4th down. So far this year he's been somewhere between below average and mediocre. He also sacked up in the most crucial moments yesterday, which should be encouraging.

QB Eagles

To be fair, their best two players on defense were out for the second half and they were playing with a stitched-together secondary that wasn't even any good back when it was healthy. At a certain point it become blindingly obvious to everyone watching the game that it was part of the Eagles gameplan that quick intermediate throws were going to be there for Eli all day, and he was accurate enough to take advantage of that. Yet they still needed to rely on circus catches to make their comeback.

It was disappointing to see the Giants come back and tie things up, but under the circumstances it was totally reasonable, and the offense and coach weren't doing much to help out the defense in that second half.

Overall they got a W in another divisional game, and I'm happy about it, even if the game was sloppy and ugly for all involved.

it's not a matter if wentz does suck it's that yesterday he did suck...he's too young to permanently suck yet...the problem with yesterday was unlike times last year where wr's couldn't get open people were running dead free all day especially down the field and he didn't see any of them

i get that people want/need their savior to be good at all times but man do people go out of their way to not say anything bad about the kid

When they went down 7 they looked dead. I chalked it up as a disappointing loss. He lead them down the field to tie it up. Then made an unbelievable pass to Jeffery in the middle of triple coverage to set up the gw fg.

The Skins just completely dominated and shutdown the Raiders, who are a top 5 offense.
The Chiefs are a legitimate top 5 D who were playing their home opener off a long week off with extra prep time with a coach on the otherside who was morons mentor
The Giants were as desperate-back-against-the-wall team as there is, their D - especially with Jenkins back - is legit.

The Birds scored more points against the Skins D than the Rams or the Raiders - both of the aforementioned teams have been lighting the scoreboard up this season.

The Birds scored the second most points against the Chiefs - only 7 less than the Pats who they were playing at home - with absolutely no running game. The entire offense was on Wentz's shoulders.

They scored more points against the desperate Giants than any other team in the league, which includes the Cowboys and Lions, both great offenses. He lead the team on a game tying TD drive and set them up for a FG with 40 seconds left on the clock.

He's not above criticism. My biggest criticism with him is his redzone efficiency. He now has legit receivers who he should be able to hit in the endzone, instead he panics. Maybe some of that has to do with playcalling, maybe it's he's just young.

easier to see at the stadium (versus tv) especially from our seats which are high in the end zone perfect for seeing entire formations and stuff but mills was on an island pretty much the whole day with odb....no safety over the top no linebacker shaded inside nothing

Schwartz: I'm really proud of the way he hung in there, and never flinched ... as the game went on. It was a hot game, we started playing a lot of snaps, we got over 70 snaps, [and he] never asked for [a double team] or Cover 2.

it was "you son of a gun"

when they first posted it there were a number of comments on facebook praising him for not cursing. this is going in the same direction as tebow. because hes a super jesus freak a certain segment of the fanbase that lines up with that thought process will never ever under any circumstances criticize him for anything.

QB Eagles

He literally says nothing but banalities like "let's go" and "that's what I'm talking about" which makes it no different from 90% of the mic'd up videos the NFL has done.
