I agree with Mr. Patel. A few tweaks here and there and they're right there in the mix with other tier 2 teams. Heck if Lane isn't a moron the O line even with all the injuries looks vastly different. You add a few playmakers on O and a CB and this team could easily make the playoffs next season.

I definitely agree. Hypothetically, and I don't think I'm throwing out any outrageous scenarios here... say the Eagles sign Alshon Jeffery in free agency, sign a solid CB, and draft Corey Davis in the first round. Then I don't know... take another RB in the draft in the mid rounds to beef up the depth there. If you are going to tell me an Eagles team with those additions couldn't compete for a playoff spot, then something is seriously wrong. The Eagles play in a conference where the Detroit Lions are the #2 seed. This isn't the stiffest of competition they are trying to catch.

Dallas was 4-12 last season, few tweaks and they're a SB contender. Yeah Romo was injured blah blah blah. Raiders were 7-9, they added a few FA's and they're SB contenders. They didn't trade for Wentz with the thought he'd lead them to a SB within the first two seasons. Step 1 is make the playoffs which they can achieve next season.

Depends on how you define "close" but they aren't all that far away. The two teams that made the NFC title game last season aren't even going to make the playoffs this season, and the Broncos may very well not either. There is tremendous turnaround every year in the NFL, and there are no dynasties at the moment. If Howie and co. have a really strong offseason, it's not a stretch to say they could be a top 3 seed in the NFC next season, and in today's NFL, that makes you a Superbowl contender.

They signed the wrong ones. The Giants showed the Eagles how to do it by getting Janoris Jenkins. If the Eagles want immediate help at CB, they better sign one, because I don't see even a first round rookie CB coming in here and revamping the secondary overnight. There is a steep learning curve for rookie CBs.

When they were playing well they should have beaten Dallas coming off a bye who was at home on prime time. Then they almost beat the Giants at home coming off a bye the following week. Like I said before, they're not mentally tough enough to come back from the Dallas and Giants loss. They clearly took a step back after those losses. That falls on the coaching staff. But you add Lane back into the mix, sign/draft a CB, and add a few weapons on O, and I see no reason they can't make the playoffs as a tier two team.

Mcleod's been so so. That money would have been better allotted signing a CB.

i think its safe to say that we all understand what the eagles need, but who isn't worried about the guy that is making the decisions on personnel ?
