i listen to a ton of nba podcasts but stopped listening/reading to bill simmons a long time ago, but i listened to his podcast this morning to get his take on the trade. he's kinda on the celtics may have lost but it'll probably turn into something better train, but most of all he couldn;t stop talking about how much he loves this sixers team right now. when you have bill simmons loving an eastern squad other than the Cs, you know the bandwagon is starting.

i think the celtics slightly won the trade but its like they get an A+ and the sixers get an A

as for the sixers team i dont see how you can be thru the roof about them until embiid proves he can play full seasons in the league and i see very little evidence that that will ever happen

i think its good that they have possibilities to fall back on thanks to the massive asset building hinkie did but its all about jo jo until and unless simmons proves to be a superstar

I'd probably flip it as I think the Sixers could and would have paid more but seems to be a win-win for both.  celtics land seems to be pretty unanimous that they got fleeced but I just don't see it. Good chance they get the guy they liked most still plus a high first.  although pick protections are pretty solid for sixers.

i mean im ecstatic about the trade as ive been on fultz since his under 18 performance...not to mention and probably more importantly hes a perfect fit....but not everyone thinks hes the best prospect or even the second best prospect in this draft...and the ones who do think hes the best say its basically a draw btwn fultz jackson ball

so if you step back and judge the trade not from a personal standpoint or even a sixer or celtic perspective but just the fact that one team received a really good draft pick to basically flip a coin between which player will be better bwtn the number 1 pick and the number 3 pick then id give an advantage to that team....

the thing that makes it really close for me is that the sixers were in no mans land at 3 because they needed a player like markelle fultz for their roster...where as boston is fine with taking BPA there

Celtics fans are pissed, I think it has more to do with Ainge usually fleecing teams than it is looking at the trade rationally. They don't need Fultz, they like a guy at 3, and they got another top 5 pick in the deal to move back 2 spots.

Assuming Fultz is what he's being touted as I'm thrilled with the trade.

yeah normally you can pick a few scenarios to make a trade better but i honestly don't think it's realistically possible for sixers.
