bb has been on record as saying they would run the offense thru Ben...I don't think bayless is some sort of barometer in what they are going to do with Ben...hes just a mini shot at trying to upgrade the shooting on the roster...if they had a real lead guard they still take a stab at someone like bayless imo

it's also important to note that the offense I think will be run thru Ben Simmons as much as it will be run by Ben Simmons...going to be lots of post stuff and pnr with him...but to properly do this you need to get shooters in these sets to take advantage of the double teams and everyone running under the pnr's

its a crazy game of how does a team who cant get nba players to come to them get as close as possible to the salary floor

i am one step closer to asking gerlad if he remembers the 7th grade basketball game between akiba hebrew academy and episcopal academy when i crossed him up from the top of the key and missed the jumper.

yeah total average NBA player but still a huge upgrade over sauce.

the best part of this move as well as the bayless move is that while both are obvious bridge guys it shows what coangelo is going to try and do in the future which is surround ben with shooters and run the offense thru him...they obviously will need to add a ball driving wing to the mix but these two moves shows he has the right idea

I mentioned this about bayless the other day....how he set career highs in jump shooting last year...well so did hendo...these two signings basically mirror each other in trying to get a guy on a short deal at low money who showed shooting upside last year as a middle ager....altho hendo is a better defender

Getting through the draft without a dumb trade was a huge confidence booster. I've moved from skepticism to cautious approval.

It should be enough to make Doug Pederson the sole focus of my sports fear this summer.
