Streaming's actually viable now if you're not functionally retarded, though.

haha...yeah, it def won't take 50 years but it's still probably a good decade away.  Of course, igy's liver might be shut down by them anyway, so yeah....we probably won't have it until after he croaks.

im a complete moron when it comes to this stuff...but this isn't a technological debate....its a matter of whether you care or not...apparently i want to go from channel to channel a lot quicker than most people

You'd hate watching tv at my place.  I don't know if DirecTV's equipment has taken a complete nose dive or what, but I get about a 7-10 second delay whenever I change channels.  Actually, it's not even limited to just that, it's pretty much everything.....pulling up the guide, hitting the info button, etc, etc.  I hate it.  Total first world problems.

id rage on them or switch to cable....ive never heard of anything like that....I can switch to five different channels in 10 seconds and with the multi unit dvr rewind each of those channels back to the start of the program

as awesome as it probably is for you....im not talking about streaming a Netflix movie or a single eagle game on some ghetto feed...im talking about sports

the fact that you have can and will soon again miss an entire eagle game sums up why we will never see eye to eye on what it is im talking about....different strokes for different folks....but this isn't a techie or old man thang
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Can't switch to cable, it's either a dish or nothing.  The struggle is real.

I won't see some games because I'm not paying for Sunday Ticket, not because streaming is terrible.

theres other sports besides the nfl.....but you not caring about the rest of the nfl much less the hundreds of other games on each week is where me and you seperate on this subject....that's what its about....not whether streams exist or whether I know the technology behind them

if my distaste was for streaming movies and I wanted dvd's back instead of Netflix you might have a point

Yeah if my DTV took seven seconds to respond to commands I'd have called them and made them replace the equipment. It annoys me just thinking about it

i think youre both right but since this is the internet, nobody wins

right now its relatively easy to navigate between games within the same app. so if there are 3 games on espn, you can shift through those fairly seamlessly, but of course without dvr. if youre flipping from an espn game to a fox game, then back to another game on espn2, that's a more complicated process that will take more than the magic 7 seconds.

that's where the 2nd screen experience enters.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

My smart tv doesn't have flash, so I cant watch it on my tv. I'm somewhat functionally retarded.

Rome

I'm watching it on Apple TV.  The stream isn't great.  Keeps skipping in an out of HD.  Another colossally stoopid idea from the NFL.

General_Failure

If you were a real fan you'd be watching it on cable tv like me.

I'd flip over to that, but I'm afraid I'd miss plays.
