these are the sixers victory now....they just play fantasy basketball and collect assets. i mean this is a great trade and all, but its going to take a few years to take advantage of that pick swap. a lot can happen between now and then, but the odds point to sac being in the top 5 in 1 of those 2 years.

time for hinkie to start scouting high school sophomores.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Even the most avid hater has to be happy with this move.

unless i'm reading something wrong, Hinkie just raped someone. stauskas, the rights to swap 1sts in 16 and 17, and sactwon's 2018 1st for two dirty euro jabroneys? I dig it.

the one caveat is that if the pick falls out of the top 10 then chicago gets it and the sixers cant swap....which they probably wouldnt do anyway...but basically gotta hope the kings finish in the bottom ten in either 2016 or 2017 or the sixers dont get the swaps

also the 2018 first is top 10 protected

and the 2018 first could be a 2019 first if the sacramento #1 owed to chicago conveys in 2017 as the sixers cant get the pick until two years after the first round pick sacramento owes chicago conveys or when it turns to a 2nd rounder in

im not entirely clear on this but it looks to me like the first rounder they got from sacramento is a one shot deal....they have to get it the first year they are eligible or they lose it....im only saying this because i havent seen any further protections for it past 2018/19

again i dont know the fine print or i could simply be reading this all wrong but it looks to me in a worst case scenario the sixers could actually end up not getting any draft picks or draft pick swaps out of this
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

One of Philly's 129391 2nds and the rights to Gudaitis and Mitrovic go to Sactown

in the next three years the sixers actually have more first round picks than second round picks

its a great move...and it pushes the potential "start date" back even further because now they could get a top 5 pick in 2018 or whatever.

more assets! more first round picks that might result in drafting the next kevin durant! this is what its all about, boys.

The pick swap is next year and the year after MDS.  Sixers can swap with the Kings the next two seasons, so it has immediate dividend if the Kings are awful (or end up like 8th but move up in the lottery).

From what I see about the future first round pick, it isn't happening until 2018 at the earliest but it's only top 10 protected the first year if I read it correctly.

ice grillin you

the first is either 2018 or 2019.....because the latest the sac pick can convey to the bulls is 2017

even if there are no draft picks involved which I guess could technically happen, they got the 10th pick of the draft last year which a lot of people actually wanted the sixers to get. just for taking on some salary which people would find reasons to hate if they didn't.

a real stretch to find anything wrong with it.

I'm sure Eskin will find something to bitch about

its still a great trade just to play the odds...both on the picks and that stauskus might actually be good...and give up nothing....but a lot people (not you) out there are going bonkers over it like the sixers got all these number ones

I was a pretty loud advocate for Stauskas last year because of his shooting + athleticism but he was pretty awful last year.  Hope the second half of last year is more representative.

Regardless it's a no-risk gamble.

ice grillin you

all you can ask for from staukus is that he can turn into an off the bench instant offense type guy...like a sane jr smith...or a spot up three point shooter to space the floor for the big men

so many people have been talking today about how he could be their sg of the future which is ridiculous
