i don't know a thing about him...but the best you're hoping for in the 2nd is a role player.

thats mostly true when you have one second round pick....when you have five you are hoping to find a draymond green or a euro stasher like manu or the dragon

the odds are not in your favor but to dismiss the second round out of hand is silly

only a handful of 2nd rounders in the past 10 years wound up being all star caliber...the other 300+ are garbage.

you would be mistaken to hope every second round pick is going to be an all star....but expecting to get a rotation guy from five second rounders and hoping to get an all star is completely reasonable

I'm optimistic about Embiid until I hear a definitive he's not playing this upcoming season. From everything we've heard it was a minor setback and he's set to play this season.

In hindsight, would you have traded the Lakers pick back to them to take Russell?

tokoto is basically kj mcdaniels replacement but he might even be a worse shooter...athletic as farg can jump out the gym and will turn into a lock down wing defender in his best case scenario

Well where are you hearing he's sitting out another year? People who are in the inner circle like Noel think he's playing this season. It's uncertain right now but they called it a minor setback, not a major one. Until the Docs say yeah his foot is farged then we can panic.

its been everywhere....google embiid and sit out another year im sure there will  be all kinds of articles discussing it...granted its all speculation and rumor because the sixers havent talked....but it still outweighs by a mile speculation and rumor that its minor and hes playing....those reports would total zero....unless you have some to show me...trust me i want to see even half of one

well the fact that he hasn't played a second of organized basketball in like 18 months makes me think he's hurt.

none of us know the real story on embiid...but they did say he won't play summer league, didn't they?  that can't be a good thing.

of course he's hurt, but all the articles out there about him sitting out another season or never playing again are speculation. they may end up being right but nobody knows for sure at this point.

Nerlens was interviewed a few days ago saying he thinks Embiid plays this season. He's definitely inner circle since they're boys and he's pretty much the heart of the team right now.

On a sidenote Okafor said he's good friends with Embiid (they text all the time) and he knows Grant.
