So Randolph was projected to go between 20 & 30 in the first round.  The Phillies took him 10th and plan to move him from SS to the outfield.

Smuggest guys in the room.

thats one piece of information....others had him as the highest ranked HS bat

its a high risk/high reward move. most draft picks dont pan out anyway, HS kids less so. the other option was to take a nola-type college pitcher that could project in a mid rotation starter. they went with the high upside player that could project into a middle of the order bat, but will probably wind up being larry greene.

if either him or jhaylin ortiz hit then they've done it right.

I read the same thing about his bat.  Highly rated out of high school.  High school picks always scare me.  Yes the kid is an athlete but so is Dom Brown.

Baseball drafts are much more of a crapshoot than the other sports.  Of course, I have no faith in RAJ anyway.

I just wish the draft had more rounds.  900 isn't enough.

hahaha  legit.

Geowhizzer

Only 40 rounds this year.

And, yeah... Amaro has nothing to do with the draft...

Phils draft Andrew Amaro (for the 2nd time) in the 35th round.

MDS

hes the first gm to ever draft a family member. oh mi god.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PhillyPhreak54

Drafted TMac and Morandidni's kids too

jonathan villar sent back down a few days ago

he has 0 future in houston with correa and altuve at middle infield. hes been underwhelming in the bigs, but is just 24 and hasnt had an enormous amount of at bats. i cant imagine his price tag is enormous. they have at least a season and a half of meaningless games coming up (err...80, j) where he can play at 2b/ss. does this make too much sense?

QB Eagles

Phillies pitchers pitch two 9-inning shutouts in the series, and get swept.

Beautiful lineup you got there, Rube.

MDS

they dont have 1 major leaguer that isnt a pitcher
