perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Wheels is in what booth?

Odub needs to sit for a bit. 2-23 with 14k's...yuck

And I've seen about enough of Asche. Franco come on down

MDS

yea the AAA player needs to "sit for a bit"

what does that even mean
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Not sure how many CSN broadcasts you've seen but Ben Davis sounds like Wheels

Dubz hit his first career HR in the 9th

and Asche was shipped to LV after the game to learn LF.  Maik comes up this weekend after the 40-day cutoff that delays free agency another year

I never thought he sounded like Wheels. He has t said no doubles or middle in yet I don't think.

Good to see Asche go down - maybe he'll learn how to hit while he's there too.

Don't play stupid.

im not....just trying to get you to stop regurgitating whatever you heard harold reynolds or wheeler say on tv in the early 90s. there is absolutely no evidence to suggest "sitting for a few days" does anything to break someone out of a slump.

also herrera isnt really even in a slump. hes not a major league player (yet). hes going to look really bad at various points. sorry its cutting into your 80 win juggernaut.

Rome

Sitting someone allows someone else who isn't totally sucking to take their place.  Also - taking a couple of days off gives everyone a breather. From them ,from you, from the situation... everything.  I don't know if it's statistically quantifiable, but it's true in the real world.

PhillyPhreak54

Yeah what Rome said.

Young buck struggling like that? Sit for a couple games and hit the cage.

But I forgot your baseball intellect is way higher than us plebes. Can't figure out why you're not a GM or at least a manager.

thats very accurate. i would make a great gm but for a variety of reasons it was never my career path.

i dont know what that means.

plenty of players simply hit through a slump. "taking a few days" is cliche nonsense you heard when you were a kid or something and you just bring it up because you think its right. it doesnt mean anything. kind of like this conversation.

ice grillin you

you both are right

big picture taking a few days off isn't going to magically make someone a better hitter....but rest in any sport can help a player both physically and mentally....that's just a fact

but this example on its own is rather laughable....the season is just over a month old...it comical to think that a 23 year old on a zesty team with no pressure on him needs time off....basically whats happened is hes not that good to begin with and theres a book beginning to form on how to pitch him since hes a rookie....he needs to make adjustments now....and that is done by getting major league at bats....not taking a day off or in the batting cage

completely sending him down (which they cant do) makes way more sense than some pine time
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

smeags

is this really going to turn into a 5page debate over cody asche being sent to the minors ?

this is the sad state of this team.

i can deal with this....im really just challenging j because he is a parrot baseball fan who repeats what wheeler said in 1995 during the glory days of his youth in pville (what up tex!)

asche was sent to the minors to learn a new position because he wasnt good enough at the position they taught him how to play. also hes not going to be good enough for the new position hes learning but really does it matter?
