1 it opens up a spot for franco
2 the phillies dont have a corner of on their roster or anywhere close to their roster
3 it would be interesting....much more so than continuing to hit choke's corpse 7th

Building a team to win now or acquiring a guy for a playoff push and you take Desmond. Even with the defensive miscues you take his offense and replace him late in the game if necessary.

jimmy the s brought this up today

phils made ender inciarte their rule 5 pick in 2012....he was returned to arizona so the phillies could sign ezequiel carrera. inciarte had a great rookie season last year and is off to a good start this year.

remember in 2005 i think it was they picked victorino in rule 5, then offered him back to los doyer....only los doyer didnt want him back.

but they held onto another rule 5 pick for the entire season in 2009 i think, so they wouldnt lose him. his name was michael martinez.
