Amaro has made so many idiotic moves, it really is pointless to select them individually.  He should have been fired after 2012, but the impotent clueless fargs who own the team refused to "let a good thing" go.  Bums in seats were more important than re-tooling a roster that was teetering on the edge of oblivion.  Hell, Boston did it.  The Cardinals do it every farging year.  But not the Phillies because they suck and always will.  farg this team.

Papelbon has been playing really well, and he actively and loudly wants out. He's a piece of shtein, but he's one of the only movable genuine assets on the team.

In retrospect, that signing might actually have been the best thing Amaro would have realistically done with that money.
