Not gonna read all this thread...just want a simple answer:

What did Chase Utley do?  I keep hearing his name, and overhearing people arguing about him.  Did he hurt someone or something?

He took out the Mets second baseman with a slide. He totally missed the bag and broke Tejada's leg in the process. If he doesn't get injured nobody cares but because he did it was dirty.

That's a legal play?  Looks kinda dirty to me.  That is, he could have been safe, but instead went for the hit.

He ended up being ruled safe on replay.  Tejeda never touched second... either.
