QuoteYou probably have never heard of Cosart, but he's expected to be in the team's rotation this season.

I'm willing to bet more Phillies fans know who he is than Marlins fans.

Since when could MLB teams trade picks?

EDIT:  According to the Almighty Wikipedia, only free agent compensatory picks can be traded.

Either way, looks like Los Bravos did alright for themselves in that trade towards the future.

I imagine Amaro being perplexed as to why the Braves are doing this.

either way I hope it blows up in ATL's face bc they have that new unnecessary stadium on the way

How could it blow up in their face? The worst that can happen is that none of the players obtained in the trade become assets. And what they gave up is a horrific contract and a closer they will have no real use for over the next couple of years. [Unlike certain other teams, they realize that a non-contender has no use for an expensive closer.]

Sure, they could have gotten more for Kimbrel, but unloading Upton was the goal here.

this is the kind of trade the phillies should make for ken giles yesterday
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I'm more talking about their rebuild than anything. Go into that money pit of a stadium and stink it up. Completely unnecessary to waste money on that stadium.
