because hes a rookie second round pick and players like that dont get minutes on championship contenders....shtein a lot of players like that dont make an nba roster

That article is terrible.  Sharp spends all of it equivocating so he has all of his bases covered.  This is dumb but Hinkie is so smart so don't bet against him!  Hinkie develops no one, but he traded KJ who he developed!  Plus I think he's arguing against a false narrative.  Lots of people acknowledge that the likelihood is that this doesn't work -- it's just better than the alternative.

If you want to craft an article taking down what the Sixers are doing, fine, but at least present some alternative to the Sixers post-Bynum that isn't "well, you never know what could happen because they could've gotten lucky with trades."

i don't even think it was a hit piece and I actually agree with much of what he wrote...but I couldn't agree more about him being all over the farging map to the point that he end ups arguing with himself for a lot of it....but that's a ton of grantland articles

but anyway the point is valid. hinkie is just endlessly searching for kevin durant. its impossible to do that. the clippers, albeit a terrible organization, were horrible for over a decade and never accidentally drafted a good player. other teams, as described in the story, did.

the rockets tried really hard and got lucky. so did the celtics. the spurs lucked in tim duncan. its insanely hard to be good in the nba, and im not sure hinkie is really increasing their chances.
