So. If they do buy this dude out, what do they do with the $7mln in cap space? The right-now defense still sucks, despite the swarm of young talent waiting to come up and they don't have the offensive firepower of a legit contender.

they shouldnt do anything....hexy has been prudent in not doing things the way the flyers of the past have always operated....most of all not needlessly spending money when you arent ready to win...they need to carry cap space for the next couple of years until they are in a position to contend then make a power move or two....right now and for the immediate future its all about talent development

if you asked me a year ago i probably would have said no....but hexy has been a revelation thus far....whether ed lets him continue on this same path is definitely an open question.....i dont know the answer...right now i feel very positive tho

whatever hextall said and/or did to convince snider to step back from the flyers norm is working so far. i am still a little worried that if the flyers make enough of an improvement to make the playoffs that snider gets impatient.

Holy shtein that is amazing. I can't believe they got anything for that relic. Hextall was by far my favorite Flyer growing up. He's making a serious play for Sexy RJS Boner Time.

Gotta say, Hextall is doing everything you wanted to see in this org.  Drafting best available talent, focusing on Goalie and Defense.  I can't for the life of me recall a time when they had this many young guys in the system who were legit top tier Dmen talent.  Provorov might make the team this year, i'm not hurt if they decide to let him mature one more, i trust hextall in this because he doesn't rush guys along.  Sanheim has turned into something special at the lower levels, I really want to see how he stacks up this year. 

Goalie wise, Felix was a steal there by all accounts, he's got the mental part they think.  His body just broke down with mono once again.  As good as Hextalls first three picks were, he was getting amazing value in the middle and later rounds.  Moving Rinaldo for anything was amazing, as was Grossman.  The future looks bright for once.
