Matt Kemp's agent, Dave Stewart, told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports that Kemp wants to return to being a team's everyday center fielder.
"Whatever they want to do we're favorable to, as long as it gives him an opportunity to play every day," Stewart said. "He'd like to eventually go back to center field. He's not opposed to right or left. But his hope at some point is to get back to center." Kemp has played primarily in left field since May 28, and the Dodgers don't seem in any rush to get him back in center. With a glut of outfielders and other needs, it's not out of the realm of possibilities that the team shops Kemp in the days leading up to the July 31 trade deadline. Kemp or his agent expressing discontent with his current situation won't do anything to lessen that possibility.

yea i mean...lets think logically here. the phillies are one of a handful of teams that could take on his contract, and they have something los doyers would want in papelbon (not that that would be enough, but lets say LA feels the need to move him). obviously something is up because his agent is putting his name behind this.

regardless i did the math in my head. kemp is 29. theres no possible scenario that gets the phillies competitive in fewer than like 3 years. BUT amaro doesnt think this way. he could literally try to make this deal, do NOTHING else, and say we got lee, hamels, burnett, utley, rollins, kemp, byrd, ruiz lets do it up in 2015.

Kemp has one of the worst contracts in the game. It's almost on par with Choke. He's not good anymore. He's serviceable, and he's been trending down for a long time. He's been zesty in left for them too, so going back to CF wouldn't help anything but his ego.

But he's not even 30 and signed through 2019!

he wasnt handled amazingly well. a lot of that is charlie, who simply refused to play him at various points even though his team was a juggernaut and could afford the weak link in the lineup. amaro, obviously, is a moron.

but brown sucked in rf, he sucked in lf, he sucked at the plate. he just sucks.
