Omar Vizquel has like 30 Gold Gloves. He absolutely should be in the Hall.

What other shortstops? The only modern shortstops who are in the HOF are Cal Ripkin, Barry Larkin, and Ozzie Smith. Jeter will be in.

If Jimmy's career is comparable to those careers when he hangs 'em up, he'll have a shot at the Hall of Fame. If not, he won't.

Sorry to say this, but spoiler alert: he won't.

He'll finish with better offensive numbers (Hits/SB/HRs/RBIs) than Larkin and has one more Gold Glove. He'll also finish with better offensive #s than Smith, although Smith has an insane amount of Gold Gloves. Larkin and Rollins actually favor comparably considering their statistics and defensive #s are similar, plus they both won an MVP and a World Series.

Rollins "better than Larkin" offensive stats are because he already has more at-bats than Larkin. Larkin crushes him at batting average, on-base-percentage, OPS... pretty much everything not having to do with getting a lot of at-bats due to being a leadoff guy. And Jimmy might have one more Gold Glove... he can weigh that against Larkin's bajillion more All-Star years and Silver Sluggers if it's an award dick-measuring contest.

If you think Jimmy and Ozzie are comparable then he should be in the Hall of Fame... I just don't think you'll find many non-Phillie fans who will be convinced of that.

Larkin does show the way though... Jimmy needs to hang around for quite a while more and be good (preferably 2004-2008 good) while doing so. If he's got five quality years left his chances are much improved.

shtein it's hard enough to find Phillie fans who don't think he's Steve Jeltz II

Larkin was hurt a lot in his career but he was still dominant.  His 1996 season was insane.  He was a 30/30/30 guy that year.

i have higher standards for the hof than the hof actually does...based on who else is in jimmy should probably go

but in reality the hof should either be for the elite of the elite (not jimmy) or have tiers, in which jimmy would fit comfortably into the lower rung.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Since most of the players from earlier in Rollins' career were roidheads, he might have a shot to get in when he's done.  They'll have to put someone in and no one has ever accused him of cheating.

He doesn't belong among the elite, though, and that's who should be in the Hall.  My favorite all-time player is like Rollins and he's not in (Rock Raines).  Rock belongs there before Jimmy does.

So who else is on the Torii Hunter HOF Train? :crazy

Rome

I count 4 dead bang HOF locks and A-Roid in that list.

Pujols, Jeter, Ichiro & Miggy.

The rest, noes.

Turned it off at 3-0.  Better things to do than to watch this slop.
