Someone needs to get a gif of Josh Harrison's rundown escape.  It was hilarious.

Villar and Singleton's zesty defense allowed Detroit to tie it

We may be here for 21 innings

thing about that homer is off the bat it doesn't look monstrous...I mean he clearly gets it but its not your typical almost 500 foot looking homer initially but hes just so farging strong....it basically went 500 feet on a line

500 feet to center.  That's ridiculous power.

Jose Altuve could become 2nd player since 1957 to lead his league in hits, BA batting average and SB at All-Star break. Ichiro 2003 did it.

QuoteThe Miami Marlins seem to have been willing to trade Giancarlo Stanton for prospects Carlos Correa and George Springer. Granting that Correa is an absolute stud, that Springer has hit fabulously well since his callup earlier this year, and that they're under team control for years while Stanton is starting to get expensive, you still wonder if the Astros will end up kicking themselves over that one. Stanton has the 11th-highest isolated power in major league history for anyone with at least 1,000 at-bats, and is a Gold Glove-caliber outfielder as well; he's a generational talent, the kind you can't really overpay for. (Another way to look at this, of course, is that the embarrassing Marlins franchise was yet again willing to trade away an irreplaceable player so as to pocket some of its dole money.)

Quote[Luhnow] told [Phillies GM Ruben Amaro] that we would consider Aaron Altherr. RA said that seemded like a reasonable ask and he was still evaluating where he was. He would get back to us.

Reading that article and the comments all around the internets really shows that at this point people are still clueless as ever. They shtein on the haul they got for Bud Norris - Josh Hader, a LHP who just turned 20 and draws comparisons to Chris Sale while dominating the Cal League, a 1st round comp pick, and LJ Hoes... for a decent #4 or 5 starter.

I wouldn't have done Correa and Springer for Stanton either. I would've put together a package centered around Springer though. Correa could legitimately be the next ARod (but non-douchebag) and a SS is far more important and less abundant than corner OF. They're also trying to shtein on the Marlins for that deal - that'd be the best haul for Stanton by far. By this point he had shown that he had power and an arm but not much else, he was always hurt and hadn't had a year like this one yet.

Agreed on that being the best deal for Stanton...that would've blown away anyone else's offer.

I didn't know LJ Hoes and when he came to bat Friday night I was like "is this really this dude's name?" lol

I knew the deal was ridiculous and went on for awhile but I thought your 2035 was an exaggeration.... I looked it up and just lol

I listen to Mad Dog Radio on Sirius most mornings and one of their morning guys is Steve Phillips. They always kill him for his stupid Mets moves and they were wishing him Happy Anniversary the other day for that.

I also enjoy when they rip him for Mo Vaughn
