Their defenses have a lot to do with that 2nd/3rd round thing, man.

My take on Wilson, and to a lesser extent Kap, is that we have yet to see them shoulder it and win games on their own. Running game not working? Defense having an off day? The real deal studs will shoulder that and win it with their arms and legs.

Have either done that yet?

the reason mobile qb's are so important in an offense like chips is because when certain things arent working....like an off day by the oline or the receivers cant get loose or the running game is dead or maybe the qb himself is just off....you have the threat of a option run or a scramble or move the pocket...foles is a farging statue...theres no plan b with him

lol @ tajh boyd.  he'll be long gone before the eagles draft in the second round.  unless you're suggesting they take him in the first.  if so, switch from gin to lighter fluid.

How many QBs were taken that year, and how many are as good as those two?  How many that good do you think there are in the draft?  You think you can just get a third round QB and because the kid has legs, plug him in and do as well or better than Foles has done?

i dont know.....who knew what russell wilson or kaep would do before they were drafted

i just know that as long as chip is here the eagles cant settle with foles

and im pretty sure chip feels the same way

I just don't see QB as pressing of a need to use anything higher than a 3rd. Obviously there are exceptions like if Boyd fell to the Eagles in the 2nd. I'm pretty sure Chip feels the same way.

at the end of the day my thing is you dont hire chip kelly and then give him nick foles...maybe im completely off and chip is going to run a standard spread type offense....but i think he envisions more

Worse yet, they hired Chip Kelly and gave him Michael Vick. I'm sure he'd like more too, but I hope he understands he's operating under the constraints of player availability and cost in relation to the value of what he already has. Regardless, Howie is making the player personnel decisions.

stanley havilli is in the playoffs and shady mccoy is not

So is Andy Studebaker and Mike Mcglynn

Maybe we should just watch hockey. Oh wait.

And there's no way you try to replace Foles until you see what his ceiling is, or at least if he can come anywhere near close to what he did this year. Of all the (offensive) HCs in the league Chip is probably most likely to adapt his offense to what he has.

These conversations are going to be great to bring back up when Matt Barkley's kissing Lombardis year after year.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

i agree you cant replace him this year....public relations wise its way to risky with the super numbers he put up....but you saw his ceiling this year...and theres no adapting to nick foles...its eliminating...as in voiding a large part of your playbook

but maybe chip is cool with that

They really will be great if he's wearing an Eagles uniform when he's winning 'em.

very simplistic and uneducated way to look at this....think big picture

plus he only won 9 games

McNabb won 13, so now I don't know what to think about Foles.
