I don't know about this reasoning. I don't think it "shows the extreme hatred" (don't know if it even exists, don't care about this type of thing at all), I just think it shows that everybody and everything in the sports industry is just farging stupid. Every single thing that happens to an athlete gets traction in the media. People are bored because it is (/was) the offseason, so the story grows. It's ridiculous.
