Haha....I didn't think I was being negative at all.  It's looking like my prediction is going to be 5 or 6 games over their final tally.  So I was actually being optimistic.

I just felt there were way too many "They'll be good if blah happens." in order for them to even be .500.  Think about all the question marks going into the season:

Doc's arm (did not pan out)
Lee (panned out for the most part)
Utley's knees (panned out)
Howard's health (did not pan out)
The bullpen (lol)
Corner outfield (lol)
M Young's defense (meh)
Dom Brown (power good, defense bad, plate discipline and defense lol)
4th and 5th pitchers (up and down)
Chooch minus drugs (meh)

That's a lot of things to be counting on to go right, especially over 162 game season.  And that's not even factoring in the things that you don't count on, like Hamels being crazy inconsistent or Paplebon blowing more than his fair share of saves, or basticho getting popped, Revere sucking to start the season and hitting the DL, etc, etc.

Just too many things they needed to go right while miraculously avoiding all the expected setbacks that come with 162 games.

Halladay activated and J.C. Ramirez called up from LV.  Tyler Cloyd and Luis Garcia sent down to make room.

One of the bets (for a cheesesteak) I made with a buddy before the season was that Doc wouldn't average more than 5 2/3 IP.  Right now he's gone 34.1 innings over 7 starts, which is like 4.9 per game.  I guess he could get about 6 more starts if he stays activated the rest of the season, but in order for me to lose this bet, he'd have to average about 7 IP per start the rest of the way.

Yeah, Hamel's first half disaster pushed the Phils from mediocrity to suckitude.  Since the all-star break, Hamels and Lee kind of flip-flopped:

Hamels:  1-2, 2.52 in seven starts.
Lee:  0-3, 4.50 in five starts.

I'm also starting to get a sinking feeling that there is something wrong with Lee's arm.

talent wise, when everyone is healthy, they are a .500 team...tough to predict all the injuries/complete lack of interest.

corbin needs to start striking this losers out

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Geowhizzer

MAAAyberry managed to hit one.

Geowhizzer

Doc goes 6 innings, gives up 2 runs.

Rome

I see the offense woke up again today.

Bernadina is batting .178

Good to see him fitting in with the rest of the team.

Wheels after Bernadina botches the fly ball "That's a shame"

No it's not.  It's hilarious.

Good start by Lee tonight.  Only run was the blown fly ball in the outfield.

Time for Papelbon to come blow it.

Don Ho

Papsmear with the save.  I've come to expect him to yak in these situations.

Tomorrow I listen to the Mets announcers.

PhillyPhreak54

Yeah I listened to them last night.

When Papsmear struck out ol boy in the 9th on that painted fastball - no disagreement from the Mets guys. They agreed it was a good nasty pitch. Any other broadcast and they'd be whining about it not being a strike even though it was.
