hes done way more than this but even if he did nothing else jimmy gets a forever hall pass for calling out the mets and verbally shteinting down their throats while the rest of the team was cowering like little bitches and looked like they might never win a division much less a pennant or ws....

then not only does he call them out and state WE are the team to beat but then he goes out and wins an mvp....i mean who does that?....i know who....a farging LEGEND

he changed EVERYTHING that year and 2008 doesnt happen without it....beleeeeeeeeeee DAT!

Is it just me or does 95% of the fanbase forget that this is exactly how it went down?  Seems like the majority forget Choke's "just get me to the plate" moment, too.  Neither should get a "free pass" for it, but mofos act like neither of these guys were around from 07-11.

its not you....and worse than forgetting any one moment with choke is seemingly forgetting the astounding numbers he put up during that time....like most of the fanbase thinks GRIT was a better offensive player than him from 2005-2011 when it wasnt even close....but GRIT must have been better cause he would stick his elbow out and get HBP 30 times a year.....GRIT!....or that choke had like two or three really good years....he was anywhere from awesome to retardedly good for more or less seven years

all this being said about both of them isnt to rip GRIT or say that he should be ripped.....he is on the same level as they are give or take.....but if you didnt know better youd think GRIT was the greatest phillie of all time and these other guys were two bit slobs....i just dont understand the love for one of them but not all three.....they all came up thru the phillie system were in their primes at the same time and won a world series together....they are basically inseperable as phillies....yet somehow GRIT is on a pedestal the other two could only dream of sharing

People see two things....how much $$$ a guys being paid and how he's producing this year.

The same fanbase that you tards are saying hate Choke for no reason because they're uninformed racists, are teh same fans that were extremely happy he was extended when it happened because they loved the guy and thought foolishly that he'd keep producing like that well into his 30's. Whatevs, I think the hate on Choke has gone wayyyyyyy too far. Dude can't help it that Amaro overpaid him, and then he got injured. If he doesn't blow out his achillies, I'd be willing to bet he'd at elast still be a 30/100 guy. While that's not worth 25 mil per year, it's still pretty damn good.

Jimmy is getting paid too much to bat under .250 with minimal power. Say what you want about Utley being damaged goods the last two years, this year he's batting .280 and is probably going to finish with 18-20 home runs.

dont think i have ever really killed jimmy or choke but i hear what you're saying. i admit utley is my favorite but i played 2b most of my baseball playing days so i have always leaned towards the guy playing there whether it be grit or all the way back to dave cash.

Jimmy is an all timer and deserves the respect. The whining by the WIP crowd of how he loafs down the line is a joke. When I'd hear those people the first thing they'd say after how jimmy loafs was "look at Utley...he busts it all the time".
