Phils aren't moving him, so it really doesn't matter.  He could be a 30 game a year player and he's still making them boatloads of money in jersey sales.

Phillies are gonna end up standing pat. No one out there, including the Red Sox, was willing to give up valuable prospects AND take on most of Lee's contract, and the Phils aren't willing to eat that kind of money. Utley is worth more to the Phils (who need next year to not be an abortion if they want their TV deal to go right) than he would be to any other team. Everyone else the team is willing to trade is seen by the rest of the league as flat-out sucking (either Young), having an impossible contract (Paps), having a no-trade clause and wanting to stay (JRoll) or being so old they are near worthless (Chooch).

They could still make a small trade, but they won't be getting anything like the future of the club in exchange. Just some journeymen and/or going-nowhere minor leaguers. So what's the farging point.

everyone is easily tradeable on the team except for choke
are they going to get cant miss prospects in every deal def not
is it realistic that they trade ALL these guys...of course not

but if they stand pat on all of them except young its because they have to go into next year with roster full of name brand players so people will think they have a chance to win and buy tickets

dont buy into the spin you are going to hear about untradeable contracts and GRIT being worth more to the phillies than say the orioles or dodgers...two teams he literally could win a world series for by putting them over the top....whereas he might help the phillies win 80 games next year instead of 78

in particular if lee doesnt get traded and/or they resign GRIT then the franchise deserves whatever it gets over the next five to seven years which is going to be ugly...lee's value will never be close to what it is right now
