don't get me wrong I wouldn't be mad if they brought him up...but if service is really an issue this is the time to save it because the team sucks and is going nowhere

if it gives you an extra year of control by saving him until Clearwater next year by all means that what they should do

they arent tampa bay or pittsburgh, who need to play those games. they can bring a guy up. if you dont do it now surely you dont do it out of spring training next year...which means someone has to fail in order for him to get a look next season.

meanwhile, jayson heyward, given a shot at age 20, is on the braves.

if franco can do that next year more power to him....but theres absolutely no reason to bring him up now and waste a service year...again I want to see him like everyone else....but if they chose to save him I have no problem with it either....a couple more months in AA would serve him better than coming up to this debacle anyway

theres being cheap and theres being smart....in this case it would probably be smart to leave him down....and trust me id be the first person to call them out for being cheap

you do know hes 20 years old and hes not a god prospect like manny machado or hof heyward...he was an unknown free agent whos had a great last year in the minors at age 19-20....hes not GRIT at 23 years old after playing in college or choke being held down for what seemed like decades

I went to the Ft. Myers Miracle vs Clearwater Threshers game tonight.  The Threshers committed five errors, including one to lose the game in the 9th inning after tying it in the top.

Glad to see "the Phillies way" is working its way through the minor league system
