Lil Guy and his bullpen rants are beginning to sound like he's drunk.

One week he's ranting about not using Papsmear in the 8th.

Now it's not big enough of a safe situation so he rips him being called on.

Make up your mind!

If DeFratus or Antontio The Arsonist are brought in and farg it up your be howling about Chuck having his closer sitting on ice.

yeah hes all over the map

theres absolutely no way you dont use him tonight

you have phifer and heidi the next two nights....yes they could be one run games....but you have to lock down the win with lannan and take your chances that you will win the games with two guys making a combined 45 million bucks this year

you use your best relief pitcher in what is the most crucial part of the game...sometimes thats the 8th, sometimes its the 9th.

a 3 run lead against a team that cant hit when he needs a day off doesnt qualify. this stuff isnt rocket science.

lannan gave them a better outing than theyre going to get out of lee or hamels. and he still felt the need to bring in papelbon. if lannan is pulled after 5 or 6 and you piecemeal your way to the 9th i get it.

its a 3 run lead...if its a 1 run lead im with you. farg your stats i dont care about what is and is not a 'save situation.'

but youve got to have 1 or 2 people in the bullpen who can give up fewer than 2 runs before getting 3 outs

it has nothing to do with a save situation....its has to with paplebon by far being your best pitcher to use in that spot

it had everything to do with papelbon being used for the 5TH TIME THIS WEEK...thats it and thats all

as you could clearly see he had nothing. now hes definitely out for tomorrow, when harper-zimm-werth could be up in a 3-2 game not a 3-0 game.

im guessing jake diekman would have had a decent chance to not give up 3 runs while getting 3 outs. or you could have left lannan in, he looked fine in the 8th to me.

at some point the phillies are going to have to win a tight game without the services of papelbon if they can even remotely dream about making the playoffs. they cant run their only relief pitcher into the ground avoiding that.

actually watch it again....he had really good stuff....hit 93 a couple times with the fastball and had some sliders really dive....his location was a little off but he also again was facing some good hitters
