without looking i want someone to tell me what kyle kendricks career record is

I'll try to think this through:

He started in what - 2007?  Probably full-time in 2008.

Seems to average about 9-7 most of the time.

9x6 = 54
7x6 = 42

So I'll go with that - 54-42, probably about 4.20 to a 4.30 ERA or so.

Don Ho

2007, I was thinking the same thing maybe average 9 wins on the hight side.  Not really in the rotation in 2011.

51-47

I really wish Checkers would stop trying to sell me cheesesteaks with swiss cheese on them.

hes now 60-45 for his career...geo almost on the money

wasnt it last year everyone hated him?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Geowhizzer

Yeah, he wasn't in the rotation, but I remember him pitching pretty well out of the pen that year.  I also lumped in 2007 and this year as "one full year" in my figures.

That said, I don't know what's gotten into Kendrick this season, but he's one of the major reasons (along with Brown) the Phils are within hailing distance of .500, and even in the ZIP code of the lead of this miserable division (No, Igy, I do not think they have a shot).

gonna be interesting to see what the philles do with kendrick this fall...they will still control him but i wonder if roob gives him a long term deal...i suspect with the payroll the way it is they will avoid arbitration and come to an agreement on a one year deal giving the phillies one more peek at him to see if hes worth caking off long term

Just checked on Kendrick's baseball-reference page.  Found it interesting that his number one similar player was Phil Hughes.  Hughes has had a ton more press, probably simply because of the fact that he plays for the Yankees, but he also does have much better stuff.  Both made their debuts in 2007; Kendrick is two years older.

Here are the totals thus far:

Kendrick:  60-45, 4.21 ERA (maybe a tad lower after today)
Hughes:  54-40, 4.48 ERA

Hughes had two high-win seasons (18 in 2010, 16 in 2012) and one season with a sub-4.00 ERA (neither of the big win seasons; it was in the year he spent in the bullpen).  Other than the two big-win seasons, his highest total was eight (again, the year in the 'pen).

Kendrick has had one full season with an ERA over 5.00 (2008), and three with a sub-4.00 ERA.  He's won 10 or more four times, but never more than 11 (three different times).

Also, since Opening Day 2011, Kendrick is 25-21, 3.54.  Hughes is 23-22, 4.80.

I'm not sure I have a major point here, but I found the comparison interesting.

One more comparison - 2013 salaries:

Kyle Kendrick:  $4.5 million
Phil Hughes:  $7.1 million

when they make the playoff this year does kendrick start game 2 or game 3

That's what I would do. Makes sense.

He will probably be busy adopting kids or organizing a fashion show.

MDS

so after they beat the reds in the 1st round

vs. stl
game 1- lee
game 2- kendrick
game 3- pettitbone
game 4- laanan
game 5- lee

does this work?
